But it’s not like he doesn’t provide anything on offense. It’s more like negative in that he doesn’t do anything even when the opportunity is there. When they watch film do not say “Gabe we want you to shoot there.” Or “Gabe good opportunity to drive to the hoop.” It’s like he’s afraid to do anything. Same with Gunn, but reverse? Trying to slow him down and get better shots.

IDK. The column was pretty weak. I was underwhelmed. I expected a bit more. I’m more than ready to let Woodson have it.

This roster is good enough to beat Penn State without its best player at home. Just hearing a few things from the press conferences, I think Woodson has these guys scared to play. From the sounds of it, nobody has told guys like Cupps and Leal that they have to contribute on offense. Which explains why you see tight scared play — trying not to screw up. Whether the message from Woodson and the coaches is on purpose or just a byproduct of their “style” they need to change it.

Exactly. What do you want? A system built around 3 and 4 stars who develop into a team greater than the sum of its parts? Or keep chasing the 5 stars that so far have been unable to take us very far?

Been thinking in my misery. Let's not forget the Dolson narrative when Woodson was hired. NBA lifer gives a path for IU kids to get to the NBA, supplemented by 2 college lifers in Matta and Fife. Matta/Fife could provide direction regarding the college game, recruiting, etc. Made some sense if Woodson was going to be the hire. Then Woodson's ego gets in the way and decides to blow it up firing Fife and probably pushing Matta out. I was one who was willing to give it a chance. I thought it was great he was able to keep TJD and build a roster around him. Bringing in guys like JHS, Malik, MM, Ware, and McNeely -- all great jobs. But an epic failure to get guys surrounding them -- your core 3-4 year players, if you will. We should have probably 4 HS kids signed to come next year to build the future off of. We don't. So aside from the on court issues -- schemes, bad losses, no quality wins, and the likelihood of missing the tourney, there are the foundational reasons why Woodson should retire (and if necessary be fired). There is really nothing he could do right now. Is he going to right the recruiting ship with 2025s? If you're going to make a change, now is the time. Sure you may lose McNeely, MM, Ware and Malik. Maybe Gallo, Cups and Leal stay -- two Indiana kids and a lunch bucket kid. Build from there. Grab some portal players and kids down at the hyper and rebuild. The cupboard is bare and there is no foundation -- it's a house of cards at this point. This sucks.

Just make sure he has enough mortar to go with those bricks.

Woodson was always a stop gap hire, not a future of the program hire. Gap is tearing wide open now.

Sounded like she was heavily involved with the Cig hire, so there's that.

Like that picture, Woody is going to feel the heat. Hopefully he says fk it and retires.

They played differently vs Iowa. Problem is one game does not make a trend.

I could see giving him another year, IF he had a stable of incoming players coming in. Every program has a down year. But 1 signee isn't going to meet that standard no matter how good the kid is. He's failed epically at getting that part of base building done.
