Kind of projecting there. Nobody really knows what is or has been going thru their head. The reason for the post was obviously Holtman's firing but doesn't mean IU wasn't looking at things before that. -

Here is what Chris said: "Yes, I said I saw that on Trilly's premium discord chat yesterday at 3:39 under IU stuff." You may want to go look at that timeframe???? -

A good AD/GM should always be working his short list. And with the OSU firing, what a time to contact people and say "hey, how's it going?" And then start talking "hypotheticals." -

I think you have to look longer term. It isn't about this year. Every team, like it or not, has a down year. And this one certainly qualifies. But there is nothing on the table for next year or the following. That's a bigger problem then losing some games in a single year. There is zero foundation. He had three years to start stacking recruits and players. He failed to do that, period end. I could care less if he stayed another year, caught lightning in a bottle and made a sweet 16/elite 8 run next year. There still would be no foundation. Fix the foundation and you can fix the program. -

If the hot commodity, Dust May, is the guy, then this isn’t about Woodson. It’s about the future of the program. Dusty may would be an upgrade and a home run in many eyes. Much like the Cubs did with Joe Madden years ago or last fall with Chris Counsell. An upgrade unexpectedly became available, so bye bye the beloved grandpa Rossy. -

It does. And I so bad want all you young ones to experience it. Only one team wins each year. It's an experience like no other. -

So Wed. March 13, after IU is bounced from the Big tournament, Dolson has some work to do. First, sit Woodson down and implore him to retire. If this goes on any longer, it's only going to get ugly for Woodson. He neither needs nor deserves that. Then get on a plan to Boca and interview Dusty. Find out for sure if he is the right guy. Find out his intentions. On the way back, stop in Terra Haute and interview that guy (just to make sure). Then come back and make a move on Woodson. -

Phil Jackson, who was mentioned here, had Tex Winter -- the triple post offense guru -- when he started. -

Different sport, but the Cubs won a world series by doing it the "Not" way. And they had just hired a new guy who they gave the boot. All because the "right" guy became available. -

Because you haven't answered my question. What is the difference between coming to IU and competing with X & Gallo Or going to UNC/AZ and competing against the other player they brought in who plays the same position? If they are afraid to compete against X & Gallo, certainly they are afraid to compete against another big tyne player. Now if you say UNC/AZ are better programs, then fine -- you found the missing link. Nothing to do with X & Gallo. -

They just said on the Ole Miss v Kentucky game that over the last 12 ranked opponents, the Lord Beard is 0-12. I'll pass. At least Woodson beat a ranked Purdue team last year. :) -

I missed this conversation, but you're talking about the IU vs. LSU regional final? That was the Phone game. :) -

Big difference between "we see you as a starter" and you're "guaranteed" to start. And with all due respect, neither you nor your insiders were privy to the actual conversations. They reported what they "heard" which doesn't make it true. So you really don't know what is "true" or not. Stating the obvious -- that 2 seniors are returning -- is just that -- a simple fact. As I said before, any player who can't look at that and say "I got these guys" may as well move on. It's not like they are Alford. -

I think you're confusing the issues. Of course, there are many reasons to choose other programs over IU. But I disagree that coaches are "guaranteeing" starting position or playing time and that's why a player chooses to commit. No coach that I'm familiar with would do that, as it sets up all kinds of problems. Now, will they talk enough to give players an idea of their expected contributions -- darn right. Things like -- "If you do this, I can see you starting for this team." "I expect you to make a significant contribution to our offense and play a significant role." "I project you'll be ______." Etc. If "guarantees" are a thing, and that is why players chose to go there vs IU, then riddle me this -- AZ got two PGs from the portal. UNC got two SGs from the portal. Did they promise them both a starting spot? If they are afraid to compete against each other to earn their minutes, why did they commit? We didn't not get the guards we needed because Trey and X were in "the way." -

WTF. So the family is going to dictate to 40 year NBA coach what his best position is. For all of Woodson's faults, he can provide guidance regarding the NBA. Hard freaking pass on the inmate's parents running the asylum. -

That's because all the D1 caliber guards in the portal where afraid to compete with a guy who had on good shooting year, and an injury prone inconsistent player. Some scary dudes there man. -

It's still pathetic. I don't want a player on my team who is "afraid" to compete for minutes. Those are the guys who fold in the championship game when it gets tough. And I struggle to believe all those "names" actually knew anything. It's all rumor and innuendo. -

I think they dis last year. Something about having TJD and Race. Zero clue why he didn’t change it up after TJD left.
