    I would fully expect May to take 2-3 years to build up his recruiting chops. But by year 3 he would have more than one freaking commit.

    In a sense it is just “one” bad year. Problem is he’s wasted the three years and failed to build any foundation. If you get lost in the win/loss record you’ll miss the real issue.

    Fair enough. But Woodson, in fact, does suck at recruiting. He's destroyed his legacy because of it.

    And the play that led to the chewing out was that kids first points of the second half, which came with 6:30 left in the game. I am all for getting on players, but not sure that's the battle you want to pick.

    2 hours to catch up. And I'll just throw this little reminder out there. When Fife was let go, one of the "reasons" that made its way around was because he offered some recruit that he wasn't supposed to. With 1 signed recruit, maybe he knew just a little bit more than Woodson gave him credit for?

    Actually, it doesn't assume anything. If they aren't willing to commit right away, then he's gone -- and that should tell you a lot. Woodson either gets it done by the end of tourney or it's over, in my mind.

    As I said earlier, part of Dolson's evaluation needs to be if Woodson can lock down -- the core of Gallo, MM, Malik, plus guys like Cupps and Sparks and keep LM -- before the tourney ends. That will leave "only" 5-7 portal players. If he doesn't lock those guys up quick, then Dolson really has no choice but to pull the plug and start fresh with the new guy.

    Ok I found it, about the 6:30 mark in the second half. IDK, I generally don't mind coaches getting into players. But that kid was torching us in the first half and didn't have a 2nd half basket until that play. Not sure that's the right battle to pick.

    It's not a three year turn around or else. The problem is Woodson has gone backwards after the third year. He's got nothing coming for next year. We want to see progression each year. Build a base and a core in year 1-2, and possibly 3. And make your run in 3, 4 and following.

    It doesn’t matter. Portal players don’t guarantee wins. And there is no evidence he can succeed at that level in the portal. He need to line up the recruits during his first two years. He failed.

    First two years where decent, given the circumstances. By year 3 you should be on a roll and it’s not even close to being good.

    You have to do both. With the number he is looking to replace, you need the HS kids plus a couple of immediate impact players from the portal. He has recruited like chit.

    It has everything to do with. By the "old" standards we should be on cruise control into the tournament.
