I am beyond pissed. My kid went there. He and his buddies had to listen to my stories. I so wanted success for them, more than anything else. I want it now so they can get to a final 4 while they still travel and don't have family obligations.

What belief is that? Play good hardnosed, sound, fundamental basketball? Make more free throws than your opponent takes? Take good quality shots and play hard defense?

Exactly. I looked at the final schedule today. Back in those days, with the teams we have left it would be coast to the NCAA, and probably have the Big 10 championship along the way. Now, it seems we'll be lucky to win 1 or 2.

Don't confuse effort with accomplishment.

I don't think Calbert lets this happen. From the looks of it, we wants to be gone as well. :)

Frankly, it's not about this year's record. Teams have a down year. And I do think Woodson did a pretty good job salvaging a team when he got here, so we the fans didn't have to start from zero. He also made some mistakes with this year's roster (hey it happens). BUT THE PROBLEM IS HE's SQUANDERED THE FUTURE. He needed to spend those first two years stacking recruits for next year and the year after. If he keeps everything together, he's losing probably 3 kids to graduation, one to the NBA and maybe 2 to the portal. Add the open scholarship and he needs 7 replacements. He should have 3-4 high school kids stacked to come in (and fill the rest with the portal). He has one, uno. And the following year isn't looking any better. Reports are he's not out doing the leg work guys like Porky Pig up in W. Lafayette are doing. That is an epic failure and IMO a fireable offense. I desperately wanted him to succeed and pumped as much sunshine as anyone. What better story would there have been -- gritty Knight player returns home and rights the ship for IU basketball. That's movie material. Instead, we have Nightmare on 17th Street.

He was awesome. And **** Vitale would just go nuts. Sloan would screen, turn screen, move a little, screen, turn screen. Vitale would be counting them out 1 - 2- 3- 4. Interesting enough, I caught a bit of an FAU game, and guess what they had "that guy." Now get off my lawn. :)

If we only win 1-2 games to close out AND we see a lot of portal entries, and possibly a decommit --- I think the public pressure will be too much and Buckner/Woodson will have to give up. It's going to be a tsunami of negativity. No way will they be able to withstand it.

Get your stuff out of the trash. We're a football school now. :)

Gotta pick the top 5 from each state (that's 15 players for the Purdue fans) and land 2-3 of those guys.

But for the fact that "the coach who no longer coaches" could have screwed the whole plan, ok. Maybe he was in on it too. :)

Actually Woodson/staff have done a good job getting him going IMO. I don’t think anyone realized how fundamentally behind he was. If it’s me, I go with consistency and Woodson’s ability to get some kids to that next level. Even Miller Kopp is G leageing it.

I guess my point is coaches should stay way from players with nutty parents like the plague.

Maybe the family should stay out of it. If they are calling him a "3" and thinking lock for the NBA, they are misguided at best.

If I was getting the chit Woodson is, absolutely.

The only "good" thing, is without the tournament Woody will be able to get to work a few weeks early. If by the end of the first weekend he can't firm up guys like Gallo, MM, Malik, and McKneely, and maybe start on some early portal targets, then Dolson can make his move on the basis that there is no program for Mike to coach. Mike's going to be a very busy man after a long season -- no rest for the weary.

I said it earlier -- Pride. Who the hell wants to just steal money and not put 100% into the job? Anything worth doing, is worth doing right. What a wasted life.

Better that than to be discretionary at Dolson's whim. :)

That is exactly what the portal is for. Those unexpected players leaving early. Needs to do his damn job.

I have to think it was contractual. No other reason to do it.
