It’s kind of a joke. But D is clearly his weakness. At least in Woodson’s version. He frequently looks lost. Make no mistake. I like the kid and support him. But he’s no world beater at this point. Could use a lot more experience and development. He’s the kind of player that can be a core 4 year player, spending his first year coming off the bench and learning the college game. He’s been thrust into starting due to our lack of depth.

Look IU has been going downhill athletically for quite some time in terms of administration. Starting with Myles Brand. He had a vision 180 degrees opposite of what Power 5 sports are today. He was on the wrong side -- would have been great as an IVY League dude. President Witten looks to be the change towards modern NCAA athletics. She gives the impression you can do both -- excel in academics and athletics. She's a sports fan, and I'll bet has some sort of athletic background. So at least we have that going for us.

Not sure I would go that far. But it is clearly a team effort -- see what they all, including Pres Witten, have said about the Cig hire. I am thinking Woodson was the "in case of emergency break glass" plan B after the guy who no longer coaches turned us down.

You should go back and listen to what Woodson actually said in the past. Cliffs notes is he's not married to an inside post offense, and wouldn't mind putting up shots. But when you have TJD and a bunch of misfitting parts, that's what you roll with. Now, he may just be BSing because he hasn't done much to move away from the post centered offense. And it's not about being committed to the perimeter or the post. It's about capitalizing on what the defense gives you. Right now we have no ability to capitalize on the three-point opportunities. We don't have good enough shooters.

Problem with Reneau and Ware is they don't have the ball handling to play outside consistently. Plus, what are you giving up pulling them out. In addition, very small sample sizes for all of them. As for Mgbako, I hear we don't "run sets" for him. We actually do -- usually after dead balls/time outs. He also frequently runs baseline picking up screens along the way. But as stated above, our passing usually sucks. Now let's look at some recent competitors -- top 4 with significant minutes, and with much higher volume: Team 1: Team 2: 51% 52% 44% 44% 44% 41% 43% 32% Mostly guards, with a few forwards thrown in. All have way better Free throw % as well. (Our Free throw shooting is criminal.) Past players -- Hulls, Cheaney, Bailey - All 44%. I'll say it again, we don't have shooters.

Well our players are working on their shot before the game. :)

It can. Get out there an lead the cheer. I'd blow out a knee.

Need to to both, right. We have a ton of potential open spots next year -- 4 to as many as 8. And 1 signee. After 3 years, total fail on Woodson not having a stable of solid HS talent coming in -- 3-4 guys to build off of. Going to get rough folks.

What does that even mean?

You haven't lived until you see a dozen 50+ year old fat guys walking around in their stiped pants. A site you can't unsee. :)
