Honestly, if a starting quality guard was afraid of X, then I'm not sure he was actually "starting quality." Maybe it's the way these kids are raised today -- wanting guarantees. To me you come in, beat the kid out, and play (as long as he's not the coach's kid). Of all the starting guards on power 5 teams, seems like X would be the easiest to compete with.

Then we should tell him $1 billllllion dollars. That way the other teams blow their NIL and we can get everyone else. :)

If this is the case, then Woody was not the bridge. He'd leave the program in worse shape than it was. And then we rebuild, once again.

Not sure I’d say flopped but the portal is a hole filler, not a program builder. We have way too many holes to fill right now to make the portal work.

The problem with the “bounce back next year” theory is there is a major lack of foundation to build from. We have what, one kid signed for next year. That’s just not going to work.

You know what — fk that. This is big boy business. If you don’t get it done, you’re out. Who cares if he’s a former player. As a former player he should be more disappointed than everyone. Now he can make it easy and decide to retire or he can be fired. Family is family, but Business is business.

Sorry to say, but our guys are legends in their own minds. None of them are NBA ready. Ware is being exposed against the men he’s playing. Another year will do them all good.

Next year will all depend on the portal and performance. So far, things have been a bit mixed.

He could, but the signs are he won't. He seems to have a limited set of advisors, old NBA guys ie; weekend at bernie's. The one college kid he had he got rid of. The rest of the senior staff is meh at best. So who is he willing to listen to? What is his overall plan -- philosophy? Why does there not seem to be any momentum with HS recruiting? Development? Or is he just flying by the seat of his pants? Why does he constantly sacrifice wins for substitutions? We knew he had to adapt and he's had enough chances to adapt and change, but it doesn't look like it's happening.

Cig won 8 games next year. They just don't know it yet. His balls are so big, they are already in the future. :)

It's because we always have gone with the "hot" commodity. The "can't miss" next thing. But never fear, seems like Dolson did that with Football. Maybe we'll find that guy for basketball.
