  1. I'm not sure I've ever seen a better example than Ryan Day of a coach who woke up on third base.
  2. Cowardly play-calling from Nebraska. Two minutes left, on the road against a top 5 team, those aren't winning plays. Throw the freaking ball downfield.
  3. I still wouldn't take us to beat them no matter where the game was played, but for the first time ever, I think we have the better coach.
  4. OSU was favored by 25.5 lol
  5. Nebraska gonna Nebraska. Of course they turn it over on downs at the 1.
  6. Nebraska has 2nd and goal at the 6, mid 3rd quarter, trailing just 14-9 at OSU.
  7. August September Yeagley 6-0-1 this month
  8. It's honestly amazing, and a bit ridiculous, how much this fanbase worries about optics. I've never seen anything close to it anywhere else.
  9. Not sure I've ever heard it called "playing fine" when a guy had more fouls than points, at least not at this level.
  10. This is a great point. I mentioned in another thread that we seem to have a higher success rate with players who aren't setting dates to have all eyes on them when they reveal their choice. I don't recall Braden Smith or Fletcher Loyer publicly announcing their intentions to go to Purdue, unless I'm misremembering. I can't actually think of any Purdue player who held a press conference and put on a hat to say they were going there. Maybe we need to recruit more like them?
  11. Pacers with a big 4th quarter to beat the Pistons on the road after trailing most of the game. The bench scored 46 points and Haliburton hit a big shot late.
  12. I doubt negative recruiting would be much of a problem if we had real recruiters with strong connections on our staff. I mean, Archie Miller wanted these guys on his staff...after we fired him I would have purged this program of anyone he coveted or confided in. And Woodson is 66. I doubt there are too many coaches in their 60's who are recruiting with the same gusto they did 20-30 years earlier. You need a strong staff. Our staff sucks.
  13. If Woodson doesn't want to, or isn't capable of putting in the leg work to start getting more high school recruits to commit, then he needs to surround himself with assistants who can. Maybe we need a staff that doesn't consist of Archie leftovers.
  14. We seem to do better with recruits who don't set an announcement date, they just commit. If a recruit chooses a date to announce, I just assume it's not us.
  15. IU basketball recruiting has taught me the following: 1) When our insiders think we're not getting someone, we're not getting them. 2) When our insiders think we're getting someone, sometimes we do, sometimes we don't. They already said we're not getting Mullins. So...see #1.
  16. Just for sh*ts and giggles, I went back and found our old 2024 conference schedule (before UW and Oregon joined). In no particular order, here's what it looked like: Home: Maryland, Minnesota, Penn State, Purdue, UCLA Away: Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Wisconsin Right now, kind of hard not to think we'd run the table against that. But the league saw an opportunity to get OSU and Michigan back on our schedule and pounced.
  17. How do you go from winning it all to having Jack Tuttle as your starting QB? He's no better now than he was way back in his fourth year of college.
  18. It will be an apology from the football gods for not giving us the chance in 2020.
  19. Sisley isn't a 5 star. So only two classes out of four right now.
  20. Man, our staff is crushing it...now we're even missing on the ones we get a late start on!
  21. Given the recruiting struggles of our staff, not sure they'd be in a position to turn down a local 5 star that wanted to come home. And let's be real, anyone who's serious about winning wouldn't, either.
  22. Kind of what I was thinking. We're probably overdue to lose one to Michigan again. Might have to avoid this board for a bit if he picks Iowa over us.
  23. The next step will be the Big Ten having OSU and Oregon get back on the field for the final 10 seconds and tell the refs to keep throwing flags until OSU scores and play it out.
  24. We don't compare favorably to a lot of the schools we recruit against. It would help if we actually had some kind of system and recruited guys who were fits for it.
  25. Does goal differential have any impact on any rankings?
