General Coach Candidate News
TheWatShot replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Everyone keeps saying a month to go...what if we have to play in that Crown tournament or whatever it is? I'm sure Woodson would love to hang around and delay the transition as long as possible. -

I feel like if Stevens isn't a candidate and there's no chance of convincing him, Dolson would want to amplify that to the fanbase ASAP. You can't introduce a new coach not named Brad Stevens when you have fans who are still convinced it could be Brad Stevens. -

Somewhere in this thread, many pages ago, it was said Cronin wants out of LA. I'll pass on him if any of that's true. I want a coach who takes this job because he wants it, not because he's looking for a way out. -

I thought you didn't want him because he was a mid-major coach? -
Today was the first time I really watched Michigan (didn't get to see our game with them). Offensively, their passing and execution is light years better than anything we've seen here the past 8 years. I know some have concerns about turnovers, but they still have a top 25 offensive efficiency. And for those concerned about defense, their defensive efficiency actually ranks higher than their offense. OSU tied the game with about 2 minutes left, and May took a timeout. Michigan scored on its next two possessions, looking confident and aggressive in doing it. They're very well-coached and very efficient. May would absolutely succeed here.

OSU needed to actually run something there instead of hoping the refs would call a foul.

Goldin for Michigan gets a tip-in to end the half and screams "and-1!!!" Probably lucky not to get T'd up. I remember Tom Pritchard doing that once and getting T'd.

NGW was a Woodson bootlicker who'd write term paper-length posts complaining about how the fans made Woodson's job harder. He deleted his account last spring. -

@Scotty R, I've always respected you as a poster, because you fit the archetype of IU fan who really wishes it was still 1990 and I have a soft spot for those fans, but this is some pretty shameful sh*t. Did you really think nobody over here would see this? Be better. -

2018-19 season with Romeo Langford, during the stretch we lost 12 of 13: Nebraska 66-51 Michigan 69-46 Iowa 77-72 Ohio State 55-52 Purdue 48-46 Purdue gave us our fifth straight home loss then....and probably will now. History repeats itself, I guess. Also, I couldn't help but laugh as I typed some of those scores. God, Archie Miller was a joke. -

He's still around. Had some videos recently reviewing corn dogs and energy drinks. -
IUBB vs Purdue - Sunday, 02.23.25 @ 1:30 on CBS
TheWatShot replied to OliviaPope40's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
After dropping their last two games, Purdue fans seem convinced that the only way anyone can beat them is due to some bizarre statistical anomaly. For example, today they pointed out that Wisconsin was 20 of 22 inside the arc and how unusual that is. The other night at Michigan, it was Trey Kaufman-Renn becoming the first player in 20 years to take at least 19 shots but not shoot a free throw. So, what does our anomaly need to be? Carlyle making a shot? Galloway not missing a free throw? Woodson showing signs of life on the bench? -

Good coaches elevate the programs they coach at. Brad Stevens was Butler's most successful coach. Dusty May built FAU from the ground up. Brownell will have 5 tourney appearances in 15 seasons. There's nothing special about that. -

If Brad Brownell is our next coach, I will delete my account, move to New Zealand and change my name to Walter. -
Hope they take a nice tumble in the rankings. They moved up last time they lost.

Goodman put his own spin on that, and based on the reaction of our fanbase, it worked. -

I've wondered if maybe his family still doesn't want to move and he needs time to convince them. -
94 at home to Wisconsin. Remember when they suddenly learned how to play defense for a few weeks and teams had trouble getting 60 on them? Good times.

Might be misremembering, but I thought 4 years ago he wouldn't talk to us until Archie Miller was gone because he didn't want to be linked to a job that wasn't open, and be seen as someone who pushed Miller out the door. -

Our boards have been buzzing about Stevens for the past week. The buzzing has gotten louder each day, and it was only a matter of time before someone in the media noticed. Goodman reached out to Stevens, got the expected canned response, and everyone lost their minds. -

I've decided I'm going to keep believing it's Stevens, for the sole reason of angering all the burners in this thread. -

They hate us because they think we're the reason Woodson won't be coaching here anymore. Only thing that makes any sense. They want the next hire to fail so they can remind us how we really didn't have it so bad with Woodson.
