General Coach Candidate News
TheWatShot replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I think a lot of posters thought we were getting him 4 years ago. Then we didn't, and everyone laughed at us. They don't want to go through that again and writing it off now is one way to prevent that. I do think it's a little strange we've had an influx of new posters all trying to shout it down, though. -

I think it was established awhile ago that ScottDolsonsBurner isn't Kopp. Kopp is playing professionally and the account had tweets during his games. But we've definitely had some guys recently who don't or didn't handle criticism well. Trayce and Race would argue with fans on social media after bad games. -

Purdue lost by 52 at OSU today. Gearlds has to be done, right? Their game with us next Sunday might be their last of the season. -

In the last 10 minutes, I kept waiting for the "best point guard in the country" to take over the game, like best point guards in the country are known to do. He looked very ordinary (his game, not appearance). -

Purdue dropped 4 spots in Kenpom. We moved up 7 spots. -

Really impressive how we've poured it on late. Purdue is very good at dominating garbage time to turn what should be 15-20 point losses into 5-10 point losses. -

Going to have nightmares of that Gallo 3 rimming out if we lose this. -

Didn't know stealing the ball was a foul. -

Fun stuff....even though we all know it won't last. -

Purdue just hit six threes in a span of 10 minutes. They made two the entire game last time we played them. -

Only took a 15-2 run to wake Woody up from his nap and call a timeout. -

I'd prefer to stay away from candidates who got fired from P-5 jobs, especially those within our own conference. I think that makes it a harder sell to the fans, and this next hire can't be a tough sell. -
I've sat through 5 IU coaches who either got fired or were forced out. This next hire needs to excite me. Mick Cronin and his lack of postseason success doesn't excite me.
-
When was the last time Kansas was unranked? It felt weird seeing "23" next to their name.
-
Cronin blamed the fans for his players going 5/15 on free throws in the second half lol. I'll be done if we hire that guy.
-
Insomnia has me watching UCLA-Minnesota. UCLA up by just one with two minutes left.
-
No court storms after Purdue's last two road losses. Hoping those days are finally over.
-
Ah, so that's it. Foul them so they'll miss a free throw, allowing Loyer to throw in a pointless 3 at the end to lose by single digits instead of 10. I love posting after Purdue losses. I've adopted the @Uspshoosier Will Wade method of not posting about them during games because every time I do, they come back from the dead or go on some crazy run.
-
I've felt for awhile now they were a textbook Purdue team that peaks in January. Looking like it right now. Down 11 with 12 seconds left and still fouling. I guess they're in these situations so infrequently they just don't know what to do.
-
Purdue doesn't lose by double digits very often, but when they do, they love to needlessly extend the game with timeouts and fouling.

It's slowing down. I only had to go back 1 page to find a post from an hour ago. -

At first, I thought you were obviously a troll. Last Friday, I was starting to think you might be legit. Now, I'm firmly back to thinking you're a troll. Hope you're enjoying all this at the expense of a fanbase that's hopelessly followed this program through roughly 25-30 years of mostly dismal, boring failure. I'm not sure what's in store for the rest of my life, but I hope I never find myself doing what you're doing. -

Crean had 7 years left on his contract. He wasn't getting fired in 2011. My theory for why Stevens stayed at Butler 2 more years is that he was waiting to see if Crean made it here. Wishful thinking, maybe. -

"Throughs" instead of "throws" was certainly a new one. Can't say I've seen that one before. At least he tried to be different instead of being like everyone else by writing "to" instead of "too."
