  1. Chris also shared the date of the UCLA game before the schedule was announced.
  2. Was a bid stolen last night? That would be my guess.
  3. Scott is a walking typo. I'm not sure if he meant "DD" or "DF" given that F is right next to D on a keyboard.
  4. Since NET rankings were introduced, the lowest NET for an at-large team was Rutgers at 77 in 2022. Towson is 138.
  5. I can't keep up with everything in this thread, and have no intention of trying. But it seems people are discouraged at hearing that candidates are still being vetted. How do we know this? In the whirlwind of pages this thread added over the weekend, I saw a few posts mentioning Chris Beard again. Is this where the talk about vetting coaches originated? If so, how recently was he vetted (if at all)? Any coach could have been vetted long ago and we're just now hearing about it from someone who felt like sharing.
  6. Sometimes I think he's more of a "what the hell is in this glass?" kinda guy.
  7. Putting aside my IU basketball cynicisms for a moment, I'm going to say that I don't believe Brownell is actually a candidate. I just have a hard time believing he'd be Dolson's guy. This feels like something we've spoken into existence. Getting rid of Woodson wasn't easy, and required persuading some people with very deep pockets. I doubt those people favored moving on if the new guy was going to be Brad Brownell.
  8. Or, the two coaches sharing a name has allowed him to post what he has, and he doesn't want to lose that cover. I think you're massively overthinking this. Is Brad Brownell really going to get someone excited enough to post about it like he has?
  9. Dolson has wanted him gone for over a year now. That's not changing. And I don't know how anybody could watch yesterday's game and think we're making any kind of tournament run.
  10. Chris said about a week ago that Woodson signed paperwork agreeing to leave.
  11. Not sure if it was mentioned anywhere, but could our poor first 30 minutes be attributed to coming back from the West Coast? Ever since Purdue lost to OSU at home it's something people started paying attention to.
  12. UCLA 59, OSU 25, mid-3rd quarter. The California schools are making me miss the Caitlin Clark era when everyone was gunning for Iowa. At least we knew we could beat them.
  13. "Let's go under screens, who cares if they shoot a wide open shot?" --IU on defense, probably.
  14. Dig up the halftime speech from the Purdue game and use it again.
  15. Everyone's going to be focused on how we aren't making shots, but I'm so sick and tired of watching us try to defend. We have zero coaching on that end of the court. We bite on shot fakes, we lose track of shooters, we don't help or communicate. Assuming we make the tourney, if we draw a quick team that can shoot, we'll get carved up.
  16. We're shooting 28%, so compared to us it probably seems like they can't miss.
  17. Can we borrow Rick Pitino for a halftime speech? I think his quotes from that game against Providence would apply here.
  18. More like starting his offseason in style after his team missed the conference tournament for the second year in a row.
  19. Be careful, we don't want to spawn another DMV. Somewhere, there's a troll just waiting for the right candidate to jump in and start going to work on us.
  20. I can't think of a fanbase that deserves a few down years more than that one. Just crazy how they think they run the league now and anyone who beats them either got lucky or cheated somehow. Unfortunately, they'll return nearly everyone next year and be highly ranked again. Such is life.
  21. Loved the out of bounds play where he threw it off Smith's back. Didn't love the result: he had a wide open layup and got rejected by the rim. Smith then proceeds to hit a fastbreak 3. I've been saying the past two years that Braden Smith has 9 lives, and that was yet another example. It was a five point swing that put Purdue back in front after a huge run by the Illini.
  22. Purdue loses 88-80 after being ahead most of the game. Purdue boards should be fun tonight.
  23. It's crazy. We have long-time, respected posters who share what they've heard and they get told they're full of it. Somebody who just registered a few weeks ago drops a cryptic post and people lose their minds.
  24. Amazing how a two-word post gets people so worked up. Some of you should go outside and enjoy the lovely winter we're having this spring.
