  1. And NIT quarterfinals lol.
  2. Much rather see Clifton in the last few mins.
  3. We Want Priller chant from the crowd. Forget that.
  4. Taking care of business at home against an undermanned team. Great effort tonight.
  5. I think the true measure of a good broadcaster is to make bad games fun and interesting. Walton is one of the best at this and I love it.
  6. And they don't handle criminal issues. University administrators and athletic departments handle disciplinary issues. As has been mentioned above, rapists are rarely convicted in criminal court due the standard of evidence required to put someone behind bars. There is a lower standard of evidence in university disciplinary investigations which makes sense. Title IX requires that universities have a hand in investigating sexual misconduct on their campuses. So the idea that they have "no business" investigating these events is ridiculous on its face.
  7. Sounds a lot like Bryant McIntosh is calling out his coach here... https://www.zagsblog.com/2018/02/01/northwesterns-bryant-mcintosh-thought-going-lot-easier/ “I kind of knew we weren’t ready,” senior point guard Bryant McIntosh told the Chicago Sun-Times. “We weren’t really prepared to play a good team. We weren’t mentally ready. I don’t think we were in shape physically. I’m still not sure we’re even really in shape now.”
  8. The inconsistency of our senior guards and the lack of scoring options will continue to plague us. However, one of the announcers mentioned last night (Hummel?) that Robert Johnson suddenly looked like he knew his college career was ending soon. I hope Rojo can find an extra gear for the rest of the season and be the player we all know he can be.
  9. I have a hard time judging freshmen too harshly, especially ones that we knew weren't studs coming out of high school (ranked ~150). He needs to get a lot stronger in the offseason in both his lower and upper body. Clifton doesn't play tough and doesn't look tough. That will come with another year under Archie's watch (I hope) and will also come naturally once he gets stronger. He needs some skill development too. Should be ready to contribute next year more than a similarly ranked Jake Forrester if he puts in the work.
  10. Another short turnaround for both teams but we're on the road again. Illinois repeat most likely. Ugly game that both teams try to give away.
  11. I don’t think you’re giving them enough credit.
  12. I love when people mention “slippery slope” because it’s a textbook logical fallacy. Fans chanting that it’s time for Izzo to go does not mean that rape jokes are next... Not even close. Izzo is complicit in MSU’s crimes. No reason for our administration to provide him a pass.
  13. Showing respect to MSU implies they are deserving of respect. They aren’t. If the basketball team wasn’t part the narrative then I understand it but Izzo has plenty to answer for.
  14. Somebody make a goddamn shot... Make some open shots and we win. Jesus.
  15. Even if it's the bathroom, well, Facebook hasn't developed over-the-internet smell technology yet.
  16. I can't tell if he's in a closet or a half bathroom. Would be very inconsiderate to spend 48 minutes in the bathroom so I'm hoping it's the closet.
  17. Well, we ran one for Al Durham at the end of the game.
  18. This team man... I know it was a quick turnaround but that game was awful.
  19. The dude was here for 3 years and after every game the same posters were still saying "Blackman."
  20. Anderson has been to a lot of games too. We will need his shooting if he’s ready year 1.
  21. Getting up there with two hands for the dunk and making it look easy. http://www.insidethehall.com/2018/01/29/video-robert-phinisee-highlights-vs-indianapolis-tech/
  22. I agree to a certain extent. Sports fandom is not rational in the economic sense of the word. Crowds don't show up or stay home based purely on entertainment value. Students and fans (especially alumni) are emotionally invested in the team. On the other hand, players and fans get motivated/energized by rivalry games or highly ranked opponents and sometimes show up flat for unremarkable opponents. That part is just human nature and I find it hard to believe that the Hall was always rocking full volume for a bottom-barrel conference opponent even in the "good old days." Does Archie need to come out and say we need more support for the non-premium home games? Public shaming is a hell of a tool when used properly.
  23. Missed the press conference. What did he say?
