Interesting on Browne... CKW is known to be opposed to graduate transfers but if we don't take a 2017 QB maybe Browne would work for a season. Talent is definitely there, hasn't seen the field much.

(2017) QB Tyler Lytle

Gotcha, thanks. We are taking a risk putting all of our hopes into 2018. CKW must be confident in King and Ramsey. -
(2017) QB Tyler Lytle

Anyone know where are we on the 2017 QB recruits? I know we are trying to flip Lytle from Colorado, but I know a few other schools are as well. It is important we recruit a good QB prospect for 2017. -
Wonder how this affects the Thunder's cap situation and their rumored pursuit of hometown hero Blake Griffin. Regardless love seeing a Hoosier get major respect like this!

42-24 IU Coach Allen has a great game plan for Rutgers, and Bacon and Leggs scrambles the Rutgers D![emoji505] -
Is Hurd graduating? We will be stacked at WR next year with Westbrook, Cobbs, Patrick, Timian, Hale, plus the freshmen we have this season. We don't use TEs very much in our offense. Doesn't look to be a good fit. Edit: forgot to mention that J-Shun Harris will be back as well!

So you're saying there's a chance!?[emoji51] If both IU and UK are bowl eligible then placing these two teams in the Music City Bowl is a NO BRAINER. A rivalry game that hasn't been played in over a decade between two bowl starved programs within near equal proximity to Nashville; attendance could realistically exceed 60K. UK went to the game 2006-2007 and attendance was sold out both years (they beat Clemson and FSU). I would definitely go. -

Correct me if I'm wrong but there hasn't been a B1G school in the Music City Bowl since 2005. I know there's a chance of a B1G team getting in but I'm not sure what would have to occur. Regardless, I would love to see IU and UK play in Nashville[emoji51] -

Feeling good this morning, it makes my weekend when IUFB wins! I felt CKW responded really well to the offensive problems we've been having. The switching of QBs wasn't forced or desperate, CKW utilized his offensive players to their best talents and did not put either Zander or Lagow into low probability of success situations. What I mean by that is Lagow can't pass the ball 40+ times a game or consistently faced with third and longs, he needs the run game to be working. Zander is part of that solution. Zander and Natee have excellent chemistry in the backfield together. Many RBs aren't comfortable taking a direct snap or playing the role of an option man, but it's smart that CKW is utilizing Natee's talents as a former HS QB. Both Zander and Natee were impressive in their decision making and really stuck the ball in on the fakes to make it tough on the defense. The best part is I think this offense is just warming up. We saw Zander throw the ball once and the defense was caught completely off guard (a beautiful throw at that). I'm sure we'll build upon that. Offensive line did a fabulous job of opening holes. Obviously Feeney back helps tremendously, but I think the line does a better job with the zone blocking scheme in the option offense, and letting the runner decide where the hole is, as opposed to the man on man blocking we've seen the past few weeks. When the running game works Lagow is under much less pressure and is much more efficient in his passing. On defense: going into this week we knew it was going to be tough stopping UMD's rushing attack. Defensive line depth is currently our weak spot, and at times we did looked tired out. However, the gameplan was to keep everything in front of us, which we did for the most part aside from the 65 yard TD run and the last drive before the half. UMD worked for every yard in the second half. The main thing to work on this week is the penalties and keeping emotions in check. Also, our kicking game is extremely concerning. I cannot wait for Rutgers next week! We cannot let ourselves be their first B1G win of the year, much less fall to 0-3 against them. -

We need to come up with a nickname for the Zander/Natee duo! I love that backfield! -

Awesome win! Need to beat Rutgers and Purdue to go bowling, which is highly realistic. Four B1G wins would be awesome! -

We got a first down on the pass to Jones. UMD is playing tough. We have to find a way to stop their run game. Lots of holes. -

I think Zander is a remedy to our red zone woes. He has the football IQ needed for fast decisions in that tight part of the field, and has a quick release. Arm strength isn't needed in the red zone Then add in Zander's legs and defenses have a lot to account for and CKW has the full playbook to work with. -

(2017) LB Thomas Allen to Indiana
akhosrof replied to hoosierwhodey's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Better hope we are able to keep Coach Allen after the season. I have a bad feeling some high profile P5 programs will look at him to be a DC, or Purdue or a top G5 school will look at him as a head coach. -

This is going to be a tough matchup for us. They have a strong secondary and we have a struggling passing game with an underachieving run gamd. They have an outstanding run game, and as good as our defense has been, interior defensive line depth is our weak spot currently. Talent wise I think we are much more talented than UMD. If Lagow has a good game this should be a no brainer win. If he continues to overthrow open receivers short and under-throw them long, we will lose in similar fashion to the past few weeks. I have said this in other topics: as poor as Lagow has played, we have had ample red zone opportunities to win every game. It is my hope that we use Zander in the red zone, where his legs can keep the defense guessing. He has the football IQ to make the quick decisions, where Lagow struggles, and arm strength isn't an issue in such a short corridor. -

As inaccurate as Lagow has been, we've had plenty of chances in the redzone. Many of our drives into the redzone have stalled into FGs or turnover on downs. Honestly, I'd like to see Zander be our redzone QB. Lagow doesn't seem to be comfortable making the quick decisions necessary to be effective in the redzone. With a short field, arm strength isn't an issue and Zander's legs could pose problems for the defense. Zander is a smart kid and can make quick decisions. Our redzone offense needs a kickstart and I think getting Zander more snaps in the redzone could help.

Yes what good is a strong arm if you're under-throwing every deep ball? We certainly have the speed at WR to run under balls. I would rather see Cameron as the starter. I don't think it is a coincidence Cameron and Diamont are listed as joint backups on the depth chart each week. If Diamont was the overall better QB he'd be the backup straight up. But they are listed as the joint backup because Zander has situational packages. Makes me believe that if CKW was to make a full time change, Cameron would be the starter, Zander would stay the backup to come in for his packages, and Lagow would drop to third string. As far as making a change: last year was a successful season because we had the B1G's best turnover differential. That hasn't been the story this season. We cannot afford to have our QB throwing INTs at the current rate. So whether it's Zander or Cameron, we need our QB to take care of the ball.

Hmmm interesting point on the offensive coach. I know this past offseason CKW decided to help out the offense so we can have the extra assistant on defense. I am not familiar with what the assistant coach limits are. Regardless, here's a thought: what about bringing back Cam Cameron to be a QB coach/offensive quality control? He's already getting guaranteed money from LSU after being fired so we'd only be responsible for a smaller offset amount, I believe. Maybe he's interested in coaching his son.
