  1. This QB situation is difficult. Lagow's accuracy has become a legitimate problem. We can't afford all these missed opportunities. However, Lagow's arm is the reason these receivers are so open on these intermediate crossing routes. If Zander or Cameron is in the game, we can't call these deeper routes because they can't deliver the ball. The field gets shorter, the and defense crowds the box. We are already beat up on the offensive line, how do you think that will go? It's just so frustrating: you'll see Lagow throw a beautiful dart downfield to Jones or Paige and you're sure he's the guy. Then he misses the most routine of throws that we need to keep a drive alive. It's no coincidence our third down conversion rate is so low. I don't know what needs to happen. The fact that before the season CKW said he didn't want to shuffle QBs, but has started bringing in Zander shows a loss of confidence in Lagow Do we give Zander a chance as the starter? Maybe his arm strength has improved enough to open up the playbook. It will be really interesting to hear what CKW has to say about the QB situation.
  2. We need to get a top QB recruit for 2018.
  3. Dan Murphy and Austin Ward pick IU this week over Nebraska. That's two out of ESPN's five B1G writers. Murphy is tied for first on the season at 46-13 and Ward is a game behind in third at 45-14.
  4. Boooommmm!!!! In state kid who chose us over Auburn and Nebraska! Let's prove him right this weekend and beat those Cornhuskers! Hopefully Potts is next! Very impressive in state class so far!
  5. Oh wow that's really cool. Will that scoreboard be updated real time with game info? Looks like there's some sort of wiring hooked up to the board.
  6. Touch situation for Camion: practices as an RB all spring then gets hurt. Rehabs, then gets moved back to WR. From a game plan perspective, it might be more difficult than it seems to get him back involved in the offense.
  7. https://www.landof10.com/nebraska/how-nebraska-plans-on-dealing-with-indiana-stealing-defensive-signals Article with quotes to put everything into perspective. Banker sounds like a sore loser. That's called reading a defense. Do a better job of masking your defense! NFL defenses tried to steal Peyton Manning's signals for years. NFL teams will sign players off of an opponents practice squad to get signals and tendencies. It's part of the game!

  9. True, all I was saying is Indiana HS football doesn't have much depth compared to Ohio, Michigan, Illinois and Pennsylvania (its improving though!). Even so, we are doing an awesome job in-state with this 2017 class. Have five commits already and we are in a good position with top 6 in-state recruits R.J. Potts and Kurt Rafdal. Bryant Fitzgerald will be tough to hang onto as signing day comes up, but he seems pretty enthusiastic about IUFB and Coach Allen has our defense looking really good. If we can keep the commits we have, plus get Potts and Rafdal, we will have seven commits from Indiana! All within the top 15 or so in-state prospects. When was the last time we've seen that for IUFB!? If anything, I think bad seasons by ND and Michigan State could help us in Ohio, a state we recruit heavily, as do ND and MSU, that has a lot of talent depth. There are lots of quality three star kids in Ohio that might give us more of a look.
  10. As much as I want to win these two games, if both OSU and Michigan get into the CFP that's B1G $$$ for the conference![emoji51]
  11. Had four games on ABC last year: OSU, Michigan, Michigan State and Duke. These nationally televised games are great for recruiting! Especially the Michigan and OSU home games where we had great crowds!
  12. Indiana HS football is usually very top heavy. Us and ND are finalists for RJ Potts, so maybe their bad season helps us a little there, although I don't think ND's bad season matters much as Brian Kelly isn't going anywhere. Potts would be an enormous get for us. A pair of Potts and fellow instate recruit Bryant Fitzgerald would be an enormous playmaking duo for our D. But with the rare top instate guys that ND would go after (for example Hunter Johnson and Pete Werner), they could go to any school in the country of their choice.
  13. I didn't get to watch much of the game but it seems like we had the right formula to win the game, just a few things didn't go out way: - Have to score a TD on that first drive after the fumble. Have to score a TD off of the INT in the fourth. Field position like that is a gift. - The dropped INT in the end zone which led to OSU's first FG. - The Lagow fumble which I thought was an incomplete pass. - The kickoff return after the TD with less than two minutes. For us to beat a team as talented as OSU we need a perfect storm. Plays like those above have to go our way. I am not disappointed by our loss, I don't think we embraced ourselves. This type of game will make us better.
  14. WOW! Have to think this will help recruiting in all sports! It's great how both Memorial and Assembly will have grand entranceways.
  15. I have a f***ing wedding this Saturday I don't want to go to. Going to try and peek on the Watch ESPN app on my phone when I can. If I see it's close in the fourth quarter I'm pulling a Cartman: screw you guys I'm going home!
  16. Welcome to the board! Cool having a Nebraska fan input. Curious, what do most Nebraska fans think of the B1G? Do you miss the Big 12 or are you happy with the B1G? Are you starting to develop rivalries with Iowa or Wisconsin? Edit: saw this today: http://larrybrownsports.com/college-football/nebraska-rejoin-big-12/326385 I'm calling BS
  17. I was merely stating I see both sides of the argument. I see the side of the argument of if a guy is ice cold and the game is close, a change has to be made to give the team a chance to win. Whether that's Diamont or Cameron, it's not a great option, but it's a better option than a guy who's confidence is shot. I think Lagow let emotions get the best of him against Wake as the INTs piled up and it clouded his decision making and focus on accuracy. Luckily Lagow this past week showed mental toughness and did an excellent job of rebounding from a poor first half. That was a very positive sign in his development.
  18. The difference between Suds and Lagow: Suds had much better football awareness. Suds may not have been accurate but he didn't make dumb throws or throw many INTs. Suds also knew CKW's playbook like the back of his hand. It was like having an offensive coordinator on the field. Suds mechanics were much better than Lagow's but it seemed like Suds was always hurt which affected his accuracy. May be a little unfair to judge Lagow so early given he's only been with us since the winter and still learning the playbook. This is what makes Lagow's potential so exciting, if he can put it together mentally by season's end he will be a great QB and we will be a scary good team with awesome prospects for next season. At the same time, if we are locked in a tight game and Lagow is ice cold throwing picks, I have no problem throwing Zander in there for a possession or two to shake things up and energize our offense. Lagow gives us the best chance to win by far though and we need to stick with him otherwise.
  19. I don't think the negativity for Lagow is fair either. There's no denying it, he had a rough first half going into the third quarter. But I am very impressed with how the kid rebounded and finished the game strong. I also don't think people realize how difficult of an over the shoulder catch Lagow made on his receiving TD. Lagow's second half is a major reason we won the game. No other QB on our roster could have won us that game IMO. Lagow is pretty much what he was hyped to be. Extremely good arm talent and decent athlete but he has poor mechanics which leads to poor accuracy. We knew all of this going into the season. Lagow's sustained success is going to depend on how quickly he can master the playbook and feel comfortable with the pre-snap adjustments. Also, Lagow needs to show he can shake off a bad INT. He did an excellent job of rebounding in the second half this week, but we can't afford to have one or two INTs tumble into five, or have three quarter long cold streaks. I think Lagow is right where we want him to be progress wise. If he continues to improve he'll be a top five B1G QB by the end of the season IMO.
  20. Wow speechless!!! Natee is an absolute beast. Our offensive line with Natee's 270 pound frame wore MSU down. Lagow played smart the last two scoring drives. Yes signature win! Sudfeld's biggest win was Mizzou, I think this beats that considering it is in conference.
  21. We have Natee! I wish we had Spriggs at LT!
  22. The Michigan game from last year all over again. Just needed a fourth down stop...
