  1. Also Lamar Stevens was a SF/PF name prior to Bridges and Kegler.
  2. I think Kegler was plan B behind Bridges as a plan A. Many times a name pops up ahead of the announcement once we know we are out of the recruitment. Seen this countless times. Kegler actually is an example of this I think. Anyway, keeps hope alive.
  3. Man, all I can think is how unreal that class will be if they woo both DD and Kegler. Going to be an interesting week or 2. Also wonder if new names will emerge on the recruiting circuit. The fact they haven't yet gives me hope still.
  4. Another one "gets it". So glad to see this.
  5. wow, there is a recruiting tag line. Or a program slogan. Geez.
  6. decades of recruiting average defensive players is likely to yield decades of average or worse defenses. Our D is slightly better this year than it has been recently. Our O is slightly weaker though.
  7. The season mirrors most others though really.
  8. A big bummer. Just not quite good enough.
  9. Always had big potential. Been working on 3 point shot for 2-3 years now
  10. @JeffRabjohns: Former Indiana forward Devin Davis 25 points, 10 Rebs, 3 steals, 3-8 on 3s in 35 minutes for Odessa junior college Friday night. Wow!!!
  11. I don't understand this response. He intentionally said its not a bash against Hartman. Hartman is a Hoosier and we are all rooting for his and IUs success but his post was correct in the sense of the NCAA as a whole. "Big Men" are generally 6'8 or taller at the 4 and 5. Granted some schools play unconventional and against those teams it's fair to have Hartman guarding the 4 or 5. But Hartman or Yogi for that matter should never have to guard Hammons. Additionally, smart coached teams EASILY take advantage of Crean's "switch all" philosophy. This coaching decision is nearly as bad as changing defenses mid shot clock.
  12. true, I can see that. We just know his quirks and it makes me more sensitive to it I suppose as rival fanbases pick on him. Also, the wording pokes fun on the QUANTITY. Almost like an absurd amount that no human being would/could consume. Either way, consensus is no harm no foul. I can live with that. My personal feeling is it was a well crafted verbal jab at a man's habits.
  13. Go Vic! Go! Great stat line in the win too.
  14. our Basketball traditions come from a winning time and thus thoughts of winning. Football needs a new identity all together. Never had anything to fall back on. Need to form traditions now.
  15. yeah, I quite enjoyed it too, but felt it added nothing to the story. Just a habit being brought to light for sake of humor or maybe to impress an addictive personality.
  16. Anyone else perturbed about Dana O'Neill picking on Creans diet Coke habit? Really had no relevance to the story. It's one of those things where we can pick on our own but it's annoying when outsiders do. Anyway Crean has the players to have a great season this year, it's next season that has me very worried. I can already hear "we're young", "we're inexperienced" "we're rebuilding" excuses being made.
  17. agree with all of this. Ms. McGill! Rob Lowe's body double girlfriend was rocking.
  18. @MikeMillerHT: FWIW, looks like Indiana officially added Brebeuf walk-on Quentin Taylor to the roster today. He dressed, but didn't play Tuesday. #iubb This guy☝️☝☝☝ Just kidding. Thomas Bryant is my answer. We need him on offensive glass, defensive glass, controlling the paint, commanding double teams, scoring, etc... The biggest difference between a 7-10 seed NCAA team and a 2-4 seed NCAA team. I hope. He's a bit awkward but his competitiveness, nose for ball, and size are phenomenal. And that OOP!! Goodness me.
  19. this is just it. Odds in favor or talent as always. Go back through top50 recruits from 2012 until now. They are either in the NBA or comprise of the best NCAA ball players for the most part. A few knuckleheads waste their talents but the preponderance of these players have success.
  20. So very true. But if we land the 3 star PF, you can bet our fanbase will think he is better than the 8th rated one because unless you are from Indiana you cant judge basketball talent. We all know that. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
  21. Brass Canon is correct too that those rankings indicate impact and talent and don't necessarily take work ethic/coaching/fit/personality etc into account.
  22. Also the recruiting rankings have grown significantly since Knight was in the game. "Knight" and Day difference so to speak.
