Precisely. Matt Roth couldn't even hold his roster spot and that is our comparison and justification for Gelon. This is just another example of Crean's haphazard recruiting style. How do you not watch this kid halfway into his Sr. year and make sure this is the player you want. No big fish were jumping in and we were the dream destination. I can't get over the fact we watched him play 1 or 2 tournaments only. At least we saw him in game action, we can't even say that for Hoetzel. I am still astonished by the way he played this recruitment. To me, there is zero reason not to slow play this recruitment. We were the dream school. This is why UK can wait as long as they want. They are most kids dream school. We were GGs dream. Maybe our transfer numbers would be more reasonable if we actually had a recruiting game plan.

Wrong again Old Friend. I SAID, statistically this is the same as Priller and April. All 3 were unrated players at the time of their committing. STATISTICALLY, we have no reason to believe this is any different. You can watch all the YouTube clips you want, I was referring to rankings. Absolutely NOT a "baseless" comment. It was based on recruiting rankings.

i understand it just fine. High Major elite teams don't behave this way. Just another example proving we aren't an elite program anymore. Indiana should get the Kyle Guys of Indiana. I don't have unfettered trust in Crean's recruiting like others do. He has been wrong as much or more than he has been right.

Unheralded Indiana player from Crown Point who can shoot. Averaged less points than me in HS. Offers from Iona, UIC, Toledo, IUPUI. 6'4"ish. Mid major talent. Going to be the next Oladipo.

As an individual example. Perea had 4 star talent. 1 star work ethic and 1 star coaching. The kid was taught to take charges for goodness sake. The LONGEST guy on the court taking charges.

Have you taken a statistics course yet? Sample size is important. Broaden your search.

This debate happens every year. Scouts are really good. Rankings are very strong. Can a player outperform his HS ranking? Sure. But 5 Star players are very good. They nearly All start as freshman. Many become pros. The statistics support this strongly.

Statistically this is a Priller/April/Hoetzel type signing in August for 2016. Chew on that a bit. Crean was "Intrigued" one month ago, now he is a Hoosier. Astonishing.

Along with other noted reasons which are legitimate, does Gary Harris ring a bell? So many reasons..... Other offers include Iona, IUPUI, Toledo, Illinois/Chicago. We could get this kid at any time. 14th rated player in Indiana. Am I right, we only have 3 guaranteed roster spots next season right? Z, Max, Yogi?? I know we think 2 more are gone to Pros/etc..but a lot has to happen. Why rush this????!
