  1. Man, I guess I was right about KAT. Dude is an absolute stud. 28/14/4 on 11/19 shooting. 2nd career game.
  2. yes, it was a well written, insightful, and funny blog. Enjoyed it as well.
  3. Another good 1. The thing is, I was still in a college basketball mentality. At Indiana, every step of a game day was planned out for you, to the minute. The team ate meals together, you traveled together, you stretched together, you took the court for warm-ups together, everything. It was all very regimented
  4. @CodyZeller: My first ever NBA game was sort of a disaster. Here's the story: https://t.co/zPHoDumfQ9
  5. Interesting quote. Game day began at 10:00 a.m. for a shootaround. But unlike college, the shootaround was short and to the point. We were in and out, and back to the hotel before noon. Then we had about five hours to relax before the bus left for the game. When we returned to the hotel, I was a little hungry and wondering when the team meal was provided. More than anything, I was just excited about the whole pre-game routine. I really wanted to soak it all up. I couldn’t mask my child-like giddiness. I will link full article in a sec.
  6. which is precisely why they do star rankings. Top 25 is a 5 star. Predictive value is very high. 4 star is 26-100. Number is somewhat important here because that is a wide range. 26 is likely better than 98. Whereas 50 and 70 is probably quite comparable. 3 stars mostly are players that are being recruited by major programs. Less than 3 is saved for the Prillers and Aprils of the world. Class ranking generally is predictive of on court results too although admittedly less so in the era of 1 and dones.
  7. I think we have covered this before but, player rankings have a VERY predictive value of player impact at the college level. Obviously there will be aberrations. What the coach does with that talent is another part of the equation. That means on the court with X's and O's and off the court with managing egos and such. This isn't a Crean discussion so I will veer left. The "easiest way" to win is having the best players. I trust player rankings more than most I guess but the data is there to support this trust. As far as our 2015 class, it was good not great class. It could become a great class if Juwan and OG develop and TB stays 2 years. We really needed another BIG or 2 that are ready to impact immediately. Hard to judge a class this early. I do know if TB goes down we are in deep trouble.
  8. There are hundreds of stellar recruiting classes that work out "just fine". Look at Duke, UK, Arizona and countless others. Using our 1 bad highly ranked recruiting class to justify mediocre results doesn't make much sense to me.
  9. are we twins separated at birth?
  10. player rating has no bearing on my feeling unless he is Lebron James. It's the fact Crean seems to utilize poor recruiting strategies regarding positions, oversignings, early acceptances, and a multitude of other factors that indicate to the haphazard style in which I've been told he runs the program. The timing of the Gelon and Durham commits are my problem not the actual players and I've been clear on this from the beginning.
  11. When can I buy tickets. Lol
  12. I will ABSOLUTELY be at that game !!!!!!!! Best news of the day!!!!!!!!!
  13. That would be Stephen Zimmerman but others have said the same thing.
  14. Quote regarding Creans reaction, "He was very excited. He wanted to make sure, but I was for certain that's where I wanted to go."
  15. probably this is the case. It's a gamble though. Do we get Vic or Stan Robinson. Who knows?
  16. "It's Indiana, they can recruit McDonald AA's" is the quote that sticks in my mind. Not that we need a team full of AA's but knowing that, this kid or a similar kid is available whenever we want. Same for Gelon.
  17. AK, you explain the timing then? A full year early with 1 open scholarship? Why not wait? Same thoughts I had with Gelon.
  18. true. I realized that, but was hoping the staff had some good reason to accept this scholarship so far in advance considering our scholarship numbers. Heck our current roster is a big man shy of being a complete roster. If TB goes down, kiss this season goodbye.
  19. Thinking out loud here. Any chance that this signing helps our standing with Kegler being that both are from the South. The only possible reasonable explanation of the timing of this commitment.
  20. So perfectly true. It's almost unfathomable the "strategy" behind our recruiting. Nix the almost part.
  21. Just question timing again. Scruggs, Wilkes, Williams and very limited schollies available. Another 1 who jumped on early offer because "Indiana can recruit McDonald AA's" and he jumped at the opportunity. Again I question Creans recruiting vision and his ability to build a team. Nothing against this kid, I actually like his upside, but again, WHY now???
