Status on our missing players, please.
WayneFleekHoosier replied to BottomLine's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Fully disagree. It’s a game by game judgement. Gotta build momentum. Gotta win recruiting battles. But most importantly you got to win games. If we have an underwhelming season this year and miss the tournament, which to me seems likely, what do we have to sell for impact players. Our NIL isn’t top 10. Our results aren’t top 25. You’ve got to sell hope then. But the negative recruiting is so easy. Year 1 proof is being built game by game. Critical next 2 months for our future. -
Ohio State comes back to get road W at Rutgers. They needed that one.

Dusty May and this Michigan team, man. I’m glad IUFB is rolling and I’m having a blast, because I’m about to put IUBB on the back burner until next season and see what we do in the portal. I fear the IUWBB type slide is approaching soon for the men.

K Martin and Charlie B poised to be stars soon! -
It did. And supposedly a downed receiver doesn’t run the clock. Still SUS with the other calls/non calls

These refs. Investigate this crap.

Agreed. He’s slime. They’ve got some tough players. Enjoyed watching them compete and not fold tonight. Chambliss is good.

Just gotta go 1-0. In consecutive weeks. Attainable.

Hard to watch the bias. But this game has been excellent otherwise.

Amazing how these things tend to happen.

Wow.

Egregious miss. Surprised they called this blatant hold.

(2027) WR Monshun Sales

Guess we’ll see what’s important to him. -
Britt was a big miss for sure but that can be said for other schools too. Spreen, Mak, Wiseman. Staff is with them all the time. They scrimmage each other. I generally think they find who they think gives them the best chance. We don’t have athletes (Z), Size, or Consistent shooting (Shay) anywhere on this roster and especially not on the bench. I, however think the sum of our parts should still be better than we are. Missing a consistent inside scorer and defender just fully magnifies all of our problems. I imagine as our season goes along, others will get chances. Stotjin has played and time is declining. She’s been bad. Jerni is playing now. She hustles, but can’t make shots. If it’s about playing time, then whatever but this isn’t rec league. We aren’t winning with this roster no matter who is getting on the court. unless Shay gets unconscious with her shooting.

Are you family of a bench player? my guess is, practice scrimmages and otherwise indicate she’s the best option. (Ability to occasionally hit the shot, good length, future contributor, and previous successes) The other guard (idk her name) is getting more looks and time. This year, it just seems like we will lose with whoever is on the court. Maybe a few others will get cycled in.

Such a disappointing season. It’s over already. Feel bad for Shay. Some of the transfer portal work was questionable. I’d say we’ve now lost any momentum that great stretch might have earned us. Like I said the other day, this has all the feels of Crean era. Besides our recruiting hasn’t fell off. This season is toast. Next season is critical. Whats Z’s injury BTW? Are we looking at a medical redshirt type decision with this season lost?

Heismendoza - 2025 HEISMAN WINNER

Strong vote for Diet Mountain Dew. Stay away from the regular though it will absolutely melt your enamel. -
I miss him. I think he was a mini-TJD. Under appreciated and took some extra hate early, but showing signs of being a real piece.

Reneau is not surprisingly having a fantastic season. He was the one guy from a talent perspective I wish we tried to keep. I don’t think he would have Jived with the current staff but from a basketball perspective he really would have helped. However, if we kept him, we’d still need a real Center. Good for him. I think he was a solid kid that really wanted to win.

IUWBB used to be a beacon on light and winning while IUBB suffered endlessly in defeat. Now they are mere equals, both underperforming expectations. Both with lots of work to do. Both with uncertain near futures. You can’t win at everything and Football reigns supreme. This football season has been overwhelming joy and I’m thankful for it. As far as basketball goes, welp, we’ll see.
