While it is true that matta wasnt hired for those things, it was said on this Ohio st game board that he sits in on all meetings and gives input if asked. I'm just surprised that he isnt hardly asked for any of that input. No. I work for a billion dollar company. I know exactly how disorganized and sloppy big business is and no I'm not shocked either from an IU perspective. Maybe its woodson on an ego trip that he is gonna be the guy to bring IU back without those guys, but if that is the outlook, that could end up bringing worse results than the Miller years.

even if woody doesn't trust fife for his recruiting blunders or whatever, how could he not listen to somebody like thad matta is beyond me. matta has had more success in the big ten than the rest of them combined. and why on earth would dolson and a trustee think that handpicking two different camps would be a good idea? a lot of us were excited about the fact that woodson was hired after the news that his assistants would be fife and matta, not before that.

yeah I saw where I was kinda late to the party on my comment. My apologies. If he is the assumed head coach in waiting I would think he would be recruiting less anyways and making more gameplans

I dont disagree, however writers obviously felt like the 2003 report on Ortiz didn't carry the same weight as the Mitchell report. It should have been delegated by MLB, not writers/voters anyways. Selig turned a blind eye for years...and he is in so I guess they should be in too. Calling Bonds the home run king is something I will never do though. thats my personal line, not that my opinion does/should make a difference

which I dont really have a problem with bonds or clemens in the hall, although I do have an issue with bonds being considered as the home run king.

Bonds is one of the biggest assholes in MLB history so I can see why writers didn't feel as though he should get extra credit. I dont know about Clemens. I do remember reading tbat Rose had signed papers that effectively banned him and that's why he isnt under consideration If they are letting anybody with any steroids in whatsoever. then Rose should be let in there
