It isn't that he isn't an accomplished coach. My only issue is that they should have many, many choices in mind before they would be getting to him.

I'm sure they have cast a wide net, if for any other reason to make it appear like they did due diligence

If IU was even slightly considering mark turgeon (they arent), they should just go ahead and keep woodson

Unless it's just a verbal agreement, which in case if I was the AD I would probably want to have conversations with backup plans at the very least in case the verbal agreement had fallen short. Just like in recruiting, verbal agreements between coach and university probably get rescinded a lot more than we maybe think.

Unless you are scott dolson or Whitten there is absolutely no way you can definitely say that

This is all just opinion, and I'm sure they have made or will make the call but I don't see Drew leaving Baylor for IU. He has established that program from the ground up and the extra money might be all that is more than what he already has

Not getting into whether or not I would support them, just listing them as possible people that may get interviews but would have a ton of questions. Pearl isn't listed because of his son and I don't think he leaves auburn Edit: i forgot few. I don't think he leaves Gonzaga i think he is using IU as leverage for Gonzaga. Just an opinion

I dont know if he would but once again it just depends on how much IU is willing to throw at it. I think his buyout is high, but maybe not higher than Cronin? Give me McDermott all day every day over cronin

Cronin is definitely an upgrade. I'm not arguing that at all. He would be a choice that I wouldn't be upset with. With that said, I would hope dolson has gone through about 7 people before it got to him. Also why pay that huge buyout, if you are just throwing money at the problem you might as well go the mid major route again and hope for a hit

I dont really see IU going after Cronin. His buyout is a definite negative, and I would hope that he is far enough down the list that it wouldn't get to him. I'm not that opposed to him as a coach here, for the record, anybody would be better than woody. I just can't imagine that is a name that donors will pony up for

The real question is how much are they willing to pony up compared to how much indiana is willing to pony up. If ius contract is bigger not only in contract but also NIL, assistants, etc then nobody would blame him if he left Michigan after 1 year. Even if they did who cares? They don't pay his bills

Don't disagree a bit. It is bound to happen, and if I was a coach I would welcome the questions since I knew it would net me more money at the end like it probably will for dusty I'm not as against Cronin as some but I don't think that he would consider the job, especially if he is against the high pressure job
