Has anyone ever heard Woody give props to a specific assistant coach for game strategy? I am not bashing him for not doing that but I used to like hearing Ellenberger on the post game broadcast back in the day and he would often mention who had the game scout responsibility for that game. Yep on campus for the chair throw, 87 championship, 92 FF team that should of won. Watched 81 team and always tried to play like IT. Still don’t think Bob would have let us rush the court but we were legitimately hoop snobs with hardware to prove it. Perfect kind of game for him. Fellow big bodies that are less effective going around or through Durr. Wisconsin officials would have had him in foul trouble but he did great holding his ground and getting some points. Mainly though their bigs just became other guys because of Durr. Ivey is tough and close to unguardable. I think Parker does well on defense in tight spaces but does not have foot speed. Trey is better but once he gets the ball he is either a layup, foul or turnover. Pain may be the best we have. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app

A little younger but not only did we never think to rush the floor but while we could get loud RMK would not have wanted that. Now, these kids have no idea what being legit blue chip programs is. He has hit with some positions but not so much on the game breakers. Leonard is one but we don’t get sacks and our corners and safeties aren’t consistent. Nelson is great but for a coach reluctant to be a run heavy team Nelson is like having awesome back seats in your Jeep. Have loved Buckner but his comments about playing vs Jax were not what a leader says. He has been solid in the middle but as our best lineman it did not translate into enough pressure on opposing QBs. Then he has been carrying this huge amount of unused salary cap space his entire time. With his seat getting warm I suggest he spend some of that for some fixes. I prefer him over Grigson by far and think teams under Grigs won despite who he brought to the team. But Ballard needs to find an answer at LT, DE, WR and QB. Not an easy shopping list. Fair points but while winning the championship is the goal I would be giddy if my coach got us to that many final fours. Now if he never won a championship that could hurt his legacy but his body of work is the reason why their fans won’t worry much about a mid season slump because he just has them ready come tournament time. I think when you are 5-0 in conference fans don’t tend to panic. If your team competes for BT titles every year fans don’t tend to get to worried during a close game. If you have a coach that has been to 8 Final Fours you have fans that can comfortably trust the process. When you have our history and have seen 3 coaches fail then we are probably going to have a hard time not over reacting to success and to failure.
