I suspect that we all feel a bit like those 6 patients. Glad nothing bad happened, glad it’s is over, did not really enjoy the process, will be a bit put off for a few days, probably have ptsd fear they may have to experience it again. But then we rarmember we are a mighty football school.

Remember when ‘ol’ Kathy with a C (or something like that) was doggin on our favorite AD (come on, after getting football right and getting $ to keep home from evil SEC land we can all admit Dolson is our fav) and suggesting he was not capable of making a hiring decision on his own. Well, methinks my classmate at IU has a bit more cache than even the mighty Quinn does these days. So, if ‘ol’ Woody doesn’t turn in a mighty fine season this year AND have a believable roster in place for next, mr Dolson gonna be able to do what he wants.

Trying to think ahead a little. Not being a season ticket holder, what would be the best way to secure tickets for game 1 of the playoffs? I know we don’t know if it will be a home or away game yet but just trying to start planning. Also, are the first games Dec 18-21?

Same. Living down in SEC country it is cool to where my IU gear and have people stop and ask about the team. It would be nice to have both but If I had to choose one to be a perennial top 10-15 team I would choose the football Hoosiers.

Getting to bowl games, typically good bowl games, and hopefully Cig can continue to add pieces such that we are part of the championship discussion here and there. If we end up with just those results, that is awesome and it will become clear that I was the jinx. Once I changed companies, was not a corporate sponsor getting all the tickets I wanted for bad teams (basketball and football), and even left the state I may have finally broke the jinx.

I tend to think a Rourke like transfer could be just as likely. Obviously I don’t see practice so hopefully the young kids are developing there.

Worst case scenario, we lose to OSU badly, how far do we fall in the rankings? Good news is we play Purdue the following week so we can potentially make up some ground should someone else lose. My biggest fear vs OSU is whether we can get the offensive line healthy. If they are then I feel we have a chance but I did not like how Michigan blew our offense up in the 2nd half.

Woodys best year was his second when we beat Purdue twice and fished 2nd in the BT. Not sure NIL helped that much then did it?

I think sage got sideways with political differences but DD was regularly going after people on twitter while at ESPN and became too much of a liability. Too bad because when he first started doing games he was good.

I know it is DD but did Woodson just kind of blow by Pat in the handshake line or was there something else? As much as Woody was back in town and close to RMK I cannot believe he would not know who Pat was. Not defending Woody here at all but curious as to why this is even being discussed unless it is just DD spouting.

Stopped at a restaurant while in Denver tonight and found 3 other tables with IU grads. Small place but great to see so many other grads/fans out repping IU.

In ‘87 a friend and I borrowed his uncles camper and drove up to East Lansing to watch AT and IU win the BT. Somehow we were able to park the RV at a sorority (met some girls in Florida for spring break and they got that cleared). Nice crisp fall day, great weekend hanging with them but they manhandled us. The girls made sure to let ever know we were Hoosiers. Still mad about that game. We did not even seem to put up a fight. Still that was a great team and a pretty fun weekend. I hope whoever is playing younger me this weekend and makes that road trip in uncle’s RV gets to see a big win!

Following the successful lower level/Cig path might be a good idea. Here is a short list of a few people/programs we came became familar with. Don't let the school name fool you, they have been one of the best D2 programs - Kevin Fickes - Women's Soccer Coach - Colorado School of Mines Athletics. They have been strong D2 program consistently. Another regular in the D2 NCAAs is Jay Entlich - Head Coach - Women's Soccer Coaches - Columbus State University Athletics. At the NAIA level, which the top NAIA teams compare well to D2 you have Steve Hamilton - Women's Soccer Coach - University of the Cumberlands Athletics. We got a good long look at Hamilton's Cumberlands program with several visits, calls with him etc. He has been building that program year after year with a combination of internationals and top players in the US. I agree. This is an important year for the Woodson staff and although 1 preseason exhibition game will not tell the entire story it is the first chapter. We have a very strong team on paper and it is time to see that strength on the court.

I like that we are targeting big time WRs. I know Rourke gets a lot of credit for great QB play but our WRs are strong. Those back shoulder throws are impressive but equally impressive is the ability of the WR to turn his body while running to catch it. I have not seen a drop stat for our WRs but it has to be very low as they seem to catch everything.
