  1. Sounds like we looked at several but once the market value for those players rose above our threshold we backed off. Like last year I expect to see us pick up some more guys we never heard of but who contribute more than we expected. I get being smart with $ but we also need some more playmakers on both sides of the ball. Ballard seems convinced he can find more playmakers in the draft vs overpaying in free agency. If he drafts like last year he just may be right. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  2. We may not need him but with the injuries we had this year we may. I was more curious if he was more likely to be a guy who helps us more in 2-3 years than next year. I would like to see a guy come in a little more prepared to play if I had my choice. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  3. Cool thanks. Don’t know much about him. Scrolled back a few pages to read up and thought I saw that one site had him as a 3*. Hopefully he can be ready to play if he were to come. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  4. Is Tre a guy that isn’t expected to play much early like Moore and Forrester or could he see much action next year Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  5. Timing may not be good but one guy really isn’t a huge miss. It is a numbers thing for me. Get 6-8 out of 10 and you are doing well to really well. You are going to miss some with that approach and I am ok with that when you consider the long game. It may be easier to build a solid base of 3 and 4 year guys first to buy in and set the ground work then later in the high end guys. But overall I understand you can do really well in recruiting and still miss guys like Brooks. It does put a little more emphasis on the next two in state 5* kids though Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  6. You still listen to Mike and Mike/ Golic and Wingo? I did for awhile but just have not enjoyed the switch. Nothing major to complain about but it has been months since I listened Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  7. I don’t live there so from a fan standpoint it may lean that way but there have been a lot of Ft Wayne kids take a non IU path that I doubt fear of backlash will be an decision issue. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  8. Could have been freshman year but didn’t he credit 2 Jrs (Green and Davis) for being the ones he talked to about it? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  9. He won’t get any backlash that matters. Indiana just is not that big a deal for their to be that much. We all care but Ft Wayne has been sending kids to all kinds of non IU destinations for a long time now. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  10. Remember when we were complaining about the potential problems with the AAU affiliation and bumper stickers. There was someone at the NCAA who tweeted out a comment meant to shut us up and linked some article that was full of errors as if that settled things? I can’t remember all the details but I was pretty sure she was an IU grad and was now all high and mighty at the NCAA. She was like “duh of course IU should be penalized look this article says they did things.” That told me all I needed to know about the NCAA and their ability to reason or investigate. 11. Are in home visits allowed right now? Could we even have one with him up at La La? We did not make a last week visit with Darius right? So if these happen and we don’t go, that would be another clue Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  12. That may be but there were several saying IU. I looked back and of reading the crystal ball page right Jerry Meyer made his pick at 11 am the day Darius chose. I thought he had actually picked Indiana before that but could be wrong. My memory tells me that it looked good early that morning then around 10 word started getting out it was Vandy and the Jerry made his pick and it was deemed over after that. 13. Garland was looking good to IU even on the morning of his announcement I thought. Then word got out it was Vandy. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  15. Hoping this study could actually provide some help. https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2019/01/gum-disease-causing-bacteria-could-spur-alzheimer-s Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  16. Pretty sure we can if it goes directly to the kid. If we publish it and send out to the public then a different story Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  17. He had those complaints after we beat them up in Lansing too. He had just lost Langford I think then but we had been hit worse at that same point. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  18. I worked in the newspaper business for several years just as the internet was ramping up. We were losing subscribers back then as the younger generation was not subscribing like their parents and grandparents did. Couple that with free news on the internet and it is amazing that papers even exist. Media has changed too. Not enough time to verify sources so most media just run with a story now. I used to love walking out and getting the paper and reading it slowly to start the day. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  19. Sorry to hear that man. It runs in our family as well and i long for the day they find a cure Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  20. If IU were to go on a run late and have 5 or so wins. Or advance in the BTT and you were the AD or coach what would you be doing to help your cause? You would argue that the injuries to so many key players caused our Mid-Session slide. Too many key players out and other key players getting exhausted. Even if this does not fully explain things, everyone wants teams to try concussions seriously and we had 2 or 3 guys out for so long because of this. Then you have Hunters issue that we discovered and you start painting the season with this as a backdrop. You show that we were never at full strength (Mcroberts, Race and Hunter) but when close to that we beat Marquette, MSU, Lville, Wisconsin and played everyone close. With the emphasis we have as a country now on respecting the injury you argue that you should not be penalized for doing that. You argue that since we are now getting some out key guys back that we should be evaluated on who we are now. You would not just let people look at the record alone without some sort of lobbying to tell your story. The Quad 1 wins, combined with the injuries combined with a late season run present a compelling argument. You may not win that argument but you have a strong case to make. 21. I believe..... kind of. If nothing else, the BTT is our dance. I do have a little more optimism for next year at this point. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  22. I just heard today that there is no committee this year. Just a computer generated field essentially. I find that hard to believe but was told that by a good source. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  23. I hope not. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  24. Losses are losses but I have been pleased to see some fight with the team the last few games. If Archie can keep them playing with this fight the rest of the year I will feel a little better. It is not easy to get a team back after losing them mid year. We won at MSU and probably should have at Iowa. Finish of the year with this effort and go into the offseason hungry. Then I will feel a lot better about next year than I did when we were losing games by 20. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  25. This team won a lot of close games early on but with the same formula. Go through Romeo or Morgan. Even the Butler game was that way and yet the shot had to be put up by Rob as a 3rd choice at best. This far into the season, teams are not going to let us use Morgan or Romeo they way we want to use them. Yet we keep trying to down the stretch. At one point in the year Romeo was pretty confident on a jab step 10 - 15 foot shot - remember that? He has seemingly abandoned that part of his game and that is something that I think he needs. Not the jab step three but something midrange like he had earlier in the year. I also think we need to look for Rob or Al for an outside shot as we go down the stretch. Too much attention on Romeo and Morgan and too much dribbling from those 2. I would love to see something set up for Rob or Al and if open they tar the shot or drive then dish to Romeo or Morgan. Putting the ball in Romeo or Morgan’s hand 20 feet from the basket is just not a winnng formula for us now. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
