It took Purdue 3 tries to find a football coach that will leave them when they have sustained success. Indiana did take a bit of a risk with Allen but if we hit he likely stays. Well keep in mind it was one practice, the first one where they ran full court and some were battling colds. I was a little discouraged until after when the first words from Archie’s mouth were along the lines of - we looked terrible. That gives me comfort that he will get it righted. I had a chance to watch a practice last week and even though I am optimistic about the upcoming season I was not overly impressed with anyone. Archie talked to us after and even he thought it was a bad practice but it was the first time many had run full court. Several were also fighting colds. Phinisee did seem close to Green but green did not really look that much different than last year. It is good that someone now can push Green in practice. Rob seemed quicker than I expected and his outside shot for me is better than Greens. Evan F looks to have a smooth shot. He also had some nice low post moves but I think his outside shot will be a really nice asset in some games. Hunter seemed a little stiff at times but when the started to scrimmage he was a quick and willing shooter and hit several mid range shots. Romeo was good and you could feel that had this been a game he would have been ready to go harder. Good from about anywhere. I asked Archie about Derons timing as I noticed he did not do any of the full court work. Archie thought he would be able to do more and more in the upcoming weeks but he did say that deron would have to then work on dropping weight. Morgan took more outside shots but was not hitting. In fact most guys did not hit well from 3 to be noteworthy except perhaps Evan F. It was cool to be there but my take away was less on how they played but on how Archie was not impressed. Actually it does. The fact that we do not have high end receivers but instead have average guys who bobble the easy pass such that the D returns it for a touchdown absolutely is a valid excuse. This is a fair take but I think the key is that each case is different. Holding a kid out while this is investigated is probably better for the kid accused but this should not be automatic. If there seems to be some merit to the accusation or if the same kid keeps finding himself in situations like this he may wear out his welcome. Accusation alone - not enough. Sorry. If there is some corroborated evidence then it may make sense. The accuser should be kept confidential and their complaint should be investigated by law enforcement, not the school. I was at the game today and Ramsey is that guy that can win if you can run and play D. On his own, he is not someone that makes it difficult on opposing Ds. He did often miss the open receivers to throw to the contested guy. His % would be even higher had he made better reads and those open guys would have then gotten first downs instead of a 5 yard catch. That being said, I am not sure what was going on with our bench and coaches today but they were getting warned and penalized often today. We had a few penalties like that one on the kickoff where we tackled Iowa inside their 10 only to be offsides. Poor leadership today and that hurt us. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Anyone know if this was the same MM when Thon Makur decided to attend out of the blue. When Thon came most of us thought we were not close to being in contention for him and if I recal later I read where many top recruits would take an official visit if you paid them.
