The colts have a lot of salary cap space still. I thought they would get more players despite Ballard saying they would build through the draft. Weren't there some guys we could have gone after that were restricted FA? Since that has not happened what happens with that salary cap space? Can they accelerate $ for guys already under contract so that we are not struggling to resign them down the road? It seems that overspending on some FAs is better than not using that so there must be some other options (like accelerating payments to guys like Luck). College basketball teams can change so quickly that waiting makes sense for the player. Transfers, kids going to the NBA, coaches leaving, and now you have FBI issues. Let's say he was leaning heavily towards IU and playing alongside Morgan. If Morgan decides he is going to leave and go make $ playing ball that could dramatically change his opinion on coming to IU. Morgan may want to stay and play another year but if some euro league offers him some big money maybe he decides to cash in while healthy. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

You don't think the staff has a good idea where incoming freshman are going to be? You don't think a top recruit, who is evaluating everything, would have his choice of dorms and roommates? I do. Heck I would have asked him where he wants to live and with whom and I would have assigned him that formally and sent a picture with his and his roommates names on the door. I don't think he will go there and am not paranoid at all. I just don't think it is out of the question nor delusional that he could end up there. If the roles were reversed and we hired a guy who perennially had teams in the top 25 at a school like X we would be hopeful. I don't think it is delusional to think a new Louisville coach might make an impact. Remember Eric Gordon? Sure Sampson had more time but it is certainly a possibility IF the Langfords want it to be. They can, it's just the frequency thing may be less desirable. He had one team in 9 that competed (got to FF) at Marquette and 1 team in 9 that had a good chance at IU. We flopped against Syracuse but up until late Feb we were the best team in the land. So once every nine years he seems to have a team competing for national championships. I think the NBA changes the 1 and done rule this summer. It is a little early since not a contract year but with the FBI/NCAA issues I think the NBA and players association step in and help out future players by allowing HS kids to be drafted.
