  1. I agree. He may get another year or two but this QB situation is on him. Defense does look a little better. We can run well. The passing game is his specialty and even if you lose your starter you should be stronger here.
  2. Crean better hope some kids and coaches from programs with strong talent in 15 and 16 like him a lot too because he may not be here for those 17 kids.
  3. Yeah not real sure how to feel. Nate getting hurt was unfortunate but he did not look great before that. None of the backups have looked ready. TC has been incredible to be leading the country with such an inept offense around him. I think the line from Hoosiers works well here. "I am trying real hard to believe you know what you're doing here".
  4. No see posts above yours. More than an appearance thing.
  5. Some know but do not want to talk about it. Some who seemed to know suggested looking on Purdue's message board So if you want to know what some are suggesting look there. I have no idea myself but since there has been limited encouragement from IU for him like they did for Hep and the asst or strength coach who had the spinal injury then I suspect it is not a pleasant situation.
  6. Should get a good draft pick
  7. The reason I think the NCAA stuff may benefit us is IF they somehow render Syracuse less competitive due to sanctions. The scholly situation is probably not enough of a difference on paper and would depend on how the coaches explain it.
  8. I suspect when we hear things like that it might mean the kid is heavily weighted one way but lingering doubts keep option B alive. Even if 90-10, that 10 is usually based on something you like and that component might enable that school to stay partially in play.
  9. Good points. It is natural though when the coach tells us not to expect a 3-4 year rebuild period. "We have some seniors here and they're not looking for a three or four-year process," Wilson said. "They want to win now, and we're going to get this thing going as fast as we can." 12/7/2010 And this regarding playing Nebraska "We could play them in the conference championship," Wilson said. "If they're good enough to win their division in the next two years." I could not find his quotes on the rebuild timing but essentially he said something like initially you lose big. You get a little better and you lose close. You get a little better and you win close. Finally you start to win big. We seem to be in the lose close cycle still which is ok but we do not necc seem better than last year even before Suds went down. So as long as we do not implode or lose big to Purdue then he is safe for another year.
  10. Anyone remember Wilson's self timeline he had. It had a catchy phrase like lose big, lose close, win close then win big. Think that was basically it and thought it was tied to four or five years.
  11. Did the crowd feel pretty big? Looked kind of sparse on TV.
  12. Ok. Now your talking, though we have it the other way around. I make sure to sample everything
  13. Why do those girls not have gingerbread man cookies?
  14. I think those gaps are what separate the top teams from the top 25 ish where we can get to. Cheaney, Graham and crew were more experience than our top kids but if they can compete well this year and win a game in the NCAA then the following year we might be able to make a bigger leap. I am not a rainbow guy but I think we really should be one of those teams on the cusp of breaking through this year. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  15. No it works. We got to the FF without a big and even survived Shaquille going like 10-10 from free throws. If the rest of our team is as good as advertised we can still be good. Not FF good but top 25 good. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  16. Remember Matt Nover? He was 6'8" and played center for IU. He even had to guard Shaquille in the tourney (we won). Nover was not a prototypical center and was not really much better than Hanner except he could stay away from fouls. It helped that he had Henderson at PF but as a center Nover helped get us to a FF. We can be good without a stud Center if our shooters and scorers can score. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  17. I primarily meant the last part of the title "according to this idiot". I Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  18. Wonder if the thread title should be changed. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  19. Well I meant national TV not regional or local. I am not sure he gets there but I can see how it is possible Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  20. Let's say Troy averages 14 and 6. Probably not obvious NBA numbers but say he has three or four big games late in the season, maybe in the tourney, where he scores something in the high twenties. If those big late games are on TV then I think his draft stock jumps way up. Seems a plausible scenario. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  21. It's Indiana. 6:23 is code. Keith Smart #23 took the game winning shot in out last championship at :06 seconds. He is saying he is coming to IU to bring a championship. [attachment=1153:ImageUploadedByBtownBanners1410315186.758114.jpg] Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  22. He posted on the 247 site about 3 hours ago. Some of the posters there poked fun at him because he had made his selection the same day as JM so it is possible he is just following. I just think he would share some of the optimism we have being an Indiana insider but apparently not. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  23. Alex McCarthy said... (original post) Morgan told me he's announcing Wednesday, likely between Vanderbilt and IU, but I still expect it to be Vanderbilt, as we've put on the Crystal Ball. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  24. I wonder if, assuming he does not know anything for certain, that this might stem from that. Sort of similar, we led for Morgan and have recruited him a long time. Hopefully we can close it out. I am a little more concerned that the Inside Indiana insider also CBd for Vandy and reiterated those thoughts tonight Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  25. Didn't JM kinda go against us when we started missing on guys like Pinson and Goodluck? I kinda remember him commenting about something going on at Indiana. We had led for several guys then lost in the end and he commented on it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
