Teri Moren Named IUWBB Head Coach
8bucks replied to HoosierReb01's topic in Indiana Women's Basketball
Well if true this should help @JPPrice: Just spoke w/ IU AD Fred Glass, who says Teri Moren's contract includes provision for $10 million dollar buyout to leave for Purdue. #iuwbb Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Wonder if this is just the way another culture treats official. CWat had something very similar last year with the team he ended up playing with. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Keep me in your prayers. Started feeling off a fee weeks now and probably should have gone straight to bed after church but it was one of the boys birthdays so he wanted to go out to eat. I barely made it to the table while fighting the urge to pass out. Tried to force in some food but no good it kept getting worse. I was shaking my head trying to stay awake when mid order I had to bolt for the ER. Fortunately we had some of the older kids there who could drive so we left the kids with them. No apparent heart attack no app etc bit some minor enzyme increase. Staying overnight. Potasium was low too. Seeing heart guy tomorrow morning. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

(2014) LB Nile Sykes to IU
8bucks replied to HoosierReb01's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Wanted to see his rankings and looked hoping he was a 4 star guy since he was at ND. At first I was disappointed he was a 3* kid but I did find a few articles that spoke of his value. A few notes. Was mentioned to be the top linebacker in a strong linebacker class. Had a very big senior year that suggest he is closer to a 4*. Also saw where he played on the line instead of as a linebacker which impacted his ranking. As a linebacker alone he was highly regarded despite being a 3*. Funny how being a 3* at Indiana is becoming expected, at least to me. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
This thread has officially gone off the rails with these past few posts. Let's keep in mind the conclusion you guys made tonight is that Crean is a lame duck coach because of some Facebook posts made by AJ Guyton after he found out he will be inducted into IU Hall of Fame while Crean is coach. It truly is amazing the way some people construe things to push forward their opinion. People do realize Calbert took a different and better job at SLU than was available at IU right? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
Calbert was offered the asst job here at IU though right? Thought I recall Crean saying Cal decided against it because he did not think he was ready or something. Then the next year he takes a job the same job he turned down here. Yeah he knows Crews but he knows IU and this area better and moving a family to a new area is not as easy as staying. I have no idea if there are issues but it is not hard to make assumptions about why Cal chose not to be an asst here but shortly after he chose to be an asst elsewhere. Life can be so hard. Especially for things outside our control. I stopped and prayed for your family Bow and hope God brings healing and peace to your family. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

When you bring in recruits that have been low 5 and high 4 star recruits for the better part of their junior and senior years you expect them to give more than what we have seen of the 12 class. Low 4 star high 3 star recruits maybe they start to be tough their junior year but when you can get a top ten class you expect results earlier. This year we saw two from this class get suspended and miss several games. We saw their minutes drop during the middle and latter part of the year. One guy, who is a great guy, cannot even get healthy enough to play. The best player was a McD player and has played a lot for us. He is a very key player for us and it is nice having him. This 12 class is way behind where their rankings suggest they should be. Sure rankings can be wrong but isn't that what we all lauded Crean for being able to do? Find diamonds in the ruff? Look past rankings and find talent? Of the five kids in that class only one is getting it done. Hanner had some "moments" this year but down the stretch when we needed wins, when Noah was not playing well or much, Hanner did not give us much. With a class of 5 or more you cannot hit on only 20%. That is too big a class and too important to sustaining the progress. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

I am confident, ok 80% confident, that Crean made some comment about Vic and the NBA near the beginning if the season last year. It became a taking pint on the message boards. His comment was based on what Vic does in practices and what the scouts who attend those practices were saying. If my memory is correct then this is revisionist thinking. Cody going pro was obvious.

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Brad Stevens is an Indiana guy. He lived here, worked here and went to college here. Indiana guy, check. Billy Donovan is an Indiana guy too, somehow I am sure we can make a case for that.

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

So we fire him next year and we do not have the transfer issue?

Also if we fire him we will be right back where we were, you mean like last place in the BT? Pull up the standings. We are already there.

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

I do not think we need an Indiana man unless one is available. Fife not ready and Alford is less proven than Crean. RMK was not an Indiana man. If Crean cannot get the ship righted we will be making a change. He certainly should not be fired now but the red flags are starting to go up for me - a long time supporter.
Because I know he's coming back. Fact.
I guess I find it hard to believe it can be a fact at this point. Sounds like you know Noah or someone close to him. A question for you then, if Noah is projected as the 8th pick now and you know he is back as an absolute fact, is there a point or position in the draft where that changes? If he somehow moved up to 4 is he still a lock to come back? Conversely since you have an inside connection, if we do. It being in any other bigs for next year could this cause Noah to reconsider staying? CTC promised Cody he would bring in a center but none of the centers could play GMM and Jurkin. I wonder if Noah sees himself as a 5 in the NBA or as a 4. If it is as a 4 I would think he would want some court time as a 4. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
Will all you sally's still be pouting when Noah comes back and we'll be a top 10-15 team again next year?
Sure. Where will you be if Noah does not come back? Seems that the only way we are a top 10-15 team is if he is back. He is projected to be a lottery pick now so I would venture to say there is a very good chance he will not be back. You can point to Cody coming back as an example sure but the team Cody came back to was one that was on the upswing. If Noah does not come back will you become a "Sally" too? Not necessarily. The last two times Mallory moved on the moved were announced on Dec 17th and Dec 18. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

I think I have good news. Circle Dec 19th 2013 on your calendar. I looked back at the LSU boards in 2008 and they looked a lot like ours now. Interestingly he was not fired officially in '08 because he moved on to the Lobos. I found an article though where Mallory admitted he did not really have a spot as DC with LSU if he did not move on. Fast forward to 2010 and the Lobos and again with a defense that is getting worse Mallory moves on this time to IU without being fired I believe. The announcements occurred on almost the same date (Dec 17th and Dec 18th) just 2 years apart. So this got me thinking...I noticed a lot of our '14 recruits have been turning in paperwork recently to enrol early and I wonder if the previous Mallory exits weren't strategically timed. Combine the early enrollment a with keeping kids committed and I am thinking/hoping we have not heard an announcemt because we (IU and Mallory) are both taking a look without giving fuel to others to poach our kids until a DC is named. Mallory is probably a like able guy and works favorably on his exit so I could see why he might travel on recruiting visits. Then on Dec 19th 2013 when we announce that Mallory has accepted some coaching job somewhere that is spun into a believable story and also announce the hiring of a new DC we do not lose ground with recruits. We should hear something in a week and a half Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
