Glad I'm not the only one seeing this. I get that players need to expand their game to audition for jobs after college but to what extent is that acceptable? When Troy continues to drive into three defenders and turn it over or drive baseline and throw it away, when is it too much? This is a huge complaint I have with Crean. He believes in his players to make plays they're not capable of making to a fault.

Gesell abused him several times with a few dribbles into a midrange jumper. Troy's fundamentals, on offense and defense, are nonexistent. Teams are starting to play to this and going at Troy when they need a bucket. He also allows players to drive around him thinking he'll get the block at the rim. Squirrel! -

His layup percentage has plummeted from last year and earlier this year. He has layups that aren't even close. It's amazing to me that OG, in just under one year, is able to accomplish what Troy has been struggling to do for almost 3 years now. OG is what I though Troy would be as a junior. -

If you get to see a replay watch off the ball while Iowa is on offense. I didn't think it was that bad while watching live but after concentrating at the screens it is bad. There were 3-4 plays Jok pushed off with two hands or a forearm that were obvious and the ref swallowed his whistle. It felt like the refs were going to keep it close no matter how bad it looked. -
I asked pap this in chat during the game last night. Does it feel like Crean teams have parts that try to do more than what they're capable of, more so than under other coaches? What I mean by this is, trying to get Bryant out top to drive rather than him just posting up, Troy is money along the baseline and getting put backs, etc. I honestly don't see this, to the extent it happens here, at other programs. I would love to see a season where players play to their strengths the entire season and use the offseason to build to their game. It just doesn't feel like players have defined roles under Crean.

And not factually correct. But, but we won at home against a top 5 team! (Completely ignores turrrrble loss on road against PSU)

Watching the game again and still have no idea how Iowa wasn't called for 5+ more fouls each half. I know Iowa runs a motion offense on most possessions but about half of their "screens" they were moving. IU players continually got caught in the thigh or hip by an Iowa player moving into them. Also Jok, Baer, Uthoff, and Clemmons took turns putting a forearm into Yogi's shoulders/neck. Jok completely pulling Yogi down on the baseline end bounds pass after a made basket. "Breathing" fouls called on Thomas Bryant. They missed a ton of traveling calls on Iowa and on Max. The "kicked" ball call when Gesell passed it into Max's crotch. This was a terribly officiated game. My final thought on all this is Iowa's poor free throw shooting was karma for poor officiating. Edit: Missed the clothesline by Woodbury on Max -
Is BS available? Crean could win out and I would hire BS if he wanted to come to Btown. Not sure where you're getting the stat for most top 25 wins in last few years in CBB but...

Call me crazy but I actually think we can compete with the @Iowa. Max's "travel every time he moves with the ball" not getting called was offset by Iowa traveling a handful of times. If TB is allowed to breath he should have a monster game and could get Woodbury in foul trouble. If Jok gets called for half his push offs and moving screens he'll be in foul trouble too. I actually think we can compete with them. -
The only difference would be the school making money from booze being drank at the games. I'm not sure I ever went into a game without alcohol. The miniature Gatorade bottles are great and about the right mixture for Captain and the size of Sprite they sell. Tuck one bottle full into each sock...

Bryant was money going 4-6 FG, 2-2 FTs, 10 points and 7 rebounds in 14 minutes. He was off being close to Iowa players going up for layups. I kind of want Thomas giving a few hard fouls so they refs actually understand what a foul is. -

Was Yogi's inefficient night on offense due to his tough defense against Jok? I still have no idea how Jok wasn't called for one of his double digit push-offs or moving screens. Loved Yogi fighting on defense though. -

Difference was IU made two more threes and 5 more FTs (on two less attempts) -

A missed TB dunk or Yogi drawing contact and showing any sense of effort @PSU. Sad to think about. -

Jok is the one that I want to punch. Dude forearmed and shoved his way open the entire game. If he were called for half the fouls he committed he would have fouled out about 10 minutes in. Hope Crean and Yogi get all over the refs @Iowa about that early in the game. -

TB's third and fourth fouls were... ummm... garbage? -
Congrats, what could be better than another Hoosier keet?! Prayers sent up

Did the American Athletic Conference (that is a conference right?) specifically look to hire former cheaters to run their basketball programs? Larry Brown, samscum, and Frank Haith...? Along with UConn and Memphis who have received sanctions in the recent past.

Denzel has to get a better look. I believe that's about 3-4 times now he's settled for a long, contested jumper at the end of the game to win it or force OT.

I believe the first pass was a Trow Williams assist to a PSU guard for an easy layup..[emoji85]

Same as last season when they quickly nosed in the first few rounds...?

I thought it was fantastic!
