Uthoff is definitely dangerous and can go off; however, if I had to choose either Jok or Uthoff to shutdown I'd go with Jok. While Uthoff has been putting up solid numbers but he hasn't been efficient. Jok has been putting up good numbers too but has been a lot more efficient. If I were matching up with Iowa I would go something like this..
Woodbury - Bryant (obviously)
Uthoff - Hartman (to start but give a healthy dose of OG and JMor too)
Jok - Yogi (Yogi did well before and seemed to get under Jok's skin a bit)
Clemmons - Zeisloft (sag off on Clemmons)
Gesell - Troy (Troy is a better on ball defender than chasing shooters)
I could see Iowa trying to attack Z by putting the ball in Clemmons' hands more. I would sag off on both Clemmons and Gesell to cover Jok/Uthoff coming off (moving) screens. Whenever OG sees the floor I might put him on Gesell for a few possessions to try and get a few baskets off turnovers.
Iowa Starters (mins):
Gesell - 29.9
Clemmons - 29.5
Jok - 26.8
Uthoff - 30.5
Woodbury - 24.9
Starters average 70.8% of available mpg
Indiana Starters (mins):
Yogi - 34.3
Zeisloft - 18.6 (RoJo - 25.5)
Williams - 25.5
Hartman - 21.8
Bryant - 22.2
Starters average 61.2% (64.7%) of available mpg
Numbers are obviously a bit skewed because of injuries but that's a significant difference especially with the amount of minutes Yogi averages. I can see why Iowa is starting to wear down even without the Franimal working them hard in practice.
Wow, didn't realize Texas already has 10 losses and they're on their way to 11. They had a big win over Oklahoma last week and recently moved up to a 5 seed ahead of us.
I don't think we see RoJo play tomorrow against the Hawkeyes. If we can win that game I wouldn't bring him back until he's definitely ready to go. It would be nice to get him back in the flow before the BTT or the big dance but making sure that ankle is healthy is more important.
It's not set in stone. IU played back to back away games in 2010-2011 at BC and at NC State in 2011-2012. If I remember correctly IU actually asked for that to offset the home/home with puke. I think they try to alternate home and away games as best as they can though.
Miami would be a good opponent but maybe not the marquee name some would want. They also are due for a home game. A return game against Dook would get fans excited, UNC in the Hall has potential for good times, or maybe a Pitt or Syracuse?
