  1. Not trying to be Debbie downer but the drills JBJ excelled in are more of endurance and less testing the knee. I believe you're referring to the treadmill test? It'll be interesting to see how well he does with lateral movement on that knee. That will determine a lot of his defensive ability and cutting on offense. I really believe that if IU can have that third elite player, with everyone else playing their role, the sky is the limit. You might be able to limit two of the three but I just don't see IU being stopped at every level.
  2. I like these games!! I really like the ones in NYC when we're recruiting that area hard. There's nothing like being able to tell an NE kid you'll get to play at MSG in a prime time game! Also, really like that were shooting for that 3-5 games. Three elite games with two solid games to back it up. If we could get those 250+ RPI games down a bit we would be in business.
  3. Wasn't there a song with Hollowell in it too?
  4. The only thing I like about that is experience but unless things change Hartman will pickup quick fouls. JMo coming in to defend Bragg and switching OG onto Jackson should even things up. Strategy should be to run and pressure KU to go to one big. For the most part, I like IU's chances against anyone that's playing only one "big."
  5. College football is back!! A fun weekend of exciting games. I don't think the $EC is as good as advertised but it's still early. The Big 12 looks to be bunched at the top with OU, TCU, Baylor, and possibly Texas. B1G looks to be solid with O$U, UM, and possibly UW. Don't think MSU will be as good this year. I think IU has a shot to hang with MSU at home and Northwestern in Evanston.
  6. Bro-in-law (puke fan) stopped by while I was watching LSU-UW. He stated I must be rooting for UW and it took me off guard. He assumed I would be rooting for the B1G because he was rooting for LSU to boost the SEC. I guess I somewhat root for the B1G to bolster the conference but it's not an outward expression of pride when an UW defeats LSU. I guess it ended up being a double debbie downer day for the bro in law with UW winning and then puke blowing a lead.
  7. And the rebuttal will be, if we get Waters, that there's not much difference between the two. I would be concerned if IU wasn't getting out of state players to fill needs.
  8. Hawaii vs. Michigan on ESPN!
  9. Wow, you'd probably have to pay me money to take Bradford. I guess Philly broke even in the Bradford sweepstakes.
  10. Going nuts on what...?
  11. If 1st, rest of that game If 2nd, rest of game + 1st half of next
  12. MSU struggling to put away Furman.
  13. Freddie needs muscle definition MSB... doesn't! I pity the fool!
  14. MSU is playing Furman on BTN too.
  15. Would I like IU to land the top instate player every year? Yes, that would be great but 1). Not realistic 2). Not every top instate players fits 3). Other factors are in play Indiana Mr. Basketball 16 - Guy, is he okay to sit for a year/two 15 - Swan, TB fits better 14 - Lyles, no thanks 13 - Irvin, good player but got Troy 12 - Harris, wish we landed him 11 - Zeller 10 - Thomas, connections at O$U 09 - Hulls 08 - Zeller, wish we landed him 07 - Gordon 3/10 isn't too bad. Considering the circumstances that's pretty fantastic. 3/10 I'm good with not landing. 3/10 wish we would have landed them. If we weren't landing good to great out of state players that fit the system is be more upset we weren't landing the top instate talent.
  16. It seems to be my MO? Because I asked if we were still dealing in facts? I laid all the facts in a post above for you but it appears you consistently move the goal post in an attempt to be a little correct. I would like for IU to be able to pick the top instate players they want and leave the rest for someone else. However, that's my little fantasy world and doesn't jive with reality. Has there ever been a coach in the state of Indiana that landed every top instate target? It's just not going to happen, especially in the age that we live in. If IU has a player that is going to start and get the majority of the minutes then the recruit is most likely going somewhere else to get his playing time. (Yogi in 2012, Jackson in 2013) It's just a different era, kids can go to non blueblood schools and get just as much, if not more, TV time and exposure to get to the next level. You also have coach, relative, handler relationships that have to deliver certain kids to certain programs. Now, the state of Indiana is nowhere close to what Chicago is but that still exist. Looking back on what IU has done or in your eyes failed to do over the last decade. IU has landed 5 of 24 by your definition of kids IU should be landing. 4 of those 5 were top 21 recruits, not bad. The only top recruit, Gordon, during that time, played at IU. If you started dwindling it down to who IU was in either serious contention with or was targeting I'm sure it would look more like 5 of 12ish which is a really good percentage. Also, IU, because of other connections, has been able to go out and land good talent elsewhere. 2009 - 35 Watford 2013 - 11 Vonleh, 53 Williams 2014 - 49 Johnson 2015 - 20 Bryant 2016 - 40 Davis Overall, I don't think the problem the IU program has right now is recruiting. IU seems to have turned a corner in recruiting kids, instate and out of state, that are high character kids. Will that be enough for Crean to win games and keep him in Btown? I'm not sure but a good 2017 class will go a long way in determining that, regardless of where the kid played high school basketball.
  17. Well, I don't see us playing both ACC and Big East challenges on the road. My guess is we'll either skip the Gavitt Tipoff game for a second year or, more likely, we'll have a home game. Could you imagine... Away: ACC, Big East, UL Neutral: ND, 2/3 Prov, VaTech, UW Even if we get the easiest 2/3 that's still a crazy difficult schedule. Having only 16 home games would probably have Crean and Glass flipping out.
  18. Providence would be a good opponent to start the "championship" bracket with but... Buzz vs. Crean as an opening game would bring a bit of buzz to the tourney. Regardless, all three should be quality non-con opponents. 2/3 Providence, VaTech, UW ACC road opponent Big East opponent @UL Notre Dame That's 6 major conference opponents. Add 7 300+ RPI teams and that's our schedule for 2017-2018
  19. It's as worthy of a Twitter account as Max's calves!
  20. I know it's only the first game but liked how the defense played for the most part. 1-0 is all that matters though!
  21. Lagow TDs- 2 Lagow Yards- 301 Redding yards and TDs- 134, 2 Next highest rusher- Majette Diamont > than 5 snaps? No Leader in receptions? Paige Leader in receiving yards? Cobbs Leader in tackles? Scales Offensive MVP? Redding Defensive MVP? Scales Points by Oakes? 10
  22. If you get the time id like to see how you feel about that? It's mostly facts if you still like dealing in those...
  23. I don't mind 4 quarters. It's good to get in line with high school and pro ball. It provides more tv commercials for the almighty $$$. All that said, I don't want college ball turning into the NBA lite anymore than it is. I really hope they focus more on traveling and keep the continuation rule down. If NCAA turns into star treatment, and 1s for all, and ignore when the ball handler stops dribbling and ticks the ball I'll be out. There's still a small bit of pureness in college ball.
