  1. No that's just how it works. The player doesn't get to call the team and schedule a workout. All I'm saying is it's the other way around. I think we're back to point one, but not totally sure. Back to point one. To get direct feedback from NBA personnel Maybe pointless if he doesn't hear anything IU isn't telling him he needs to work on, but we'll never know what info he gets back vs. what he knows. Leaving the possibility of it being a good decision. Yeah, I think I'm out of colors.
  2. Assembly Call @AssemblyCall Who do you think we should try to have on as a guest during our offseason shows? #iubb Justin Albers @Justin_Albers @AssemblyCall Perhaps a departing IU writer who sometimes says stupid **** on Twitter that piss people off? @AssemblyCall @Justin_Albers you are leaving the IU beat? I did not realize. What is next?
  3. Jon Rothstein @JonRothstein BREAKING: 2016 PG Jaylen Fisher is expected to decommit from UNLV and plans to visit TCU this weekend, sources told @CBSSports.
  4. Devonté Green @ChefBoyArGreen Only 50 days until I touchdown on campus
  5. Pat Lawless @PatLawless_ Cameron Reddish, a class of 2018 SG playing for Team Final (PA), just picked up an offer from Duke.
  6. The NBA team has to invite you for the workout...
  7. Wait, what workouts has this decision subjected him to?
  8. Huh? He is just getting feedback. He'll start for IU next year and have some insight into what the people who matter for his future think he needs to improve upon.
  9. Justin Albers @Justin_Albers EXCLUSIVE story with quotes from McSwain on why he chose Indiana and what roll he expects to play next season. #iubb scout.com/college/indian… Tim Fiess @tfiess @Justin_Albers exclusive? Rabjohns had same quotes Justin Albers @Justin_Albers @tfiess if he did, he stole them from my podcast. I had the story on Friday in a 1o1. Look up exclusive in the dictionary youngin Adam Bruner @B89Adam @Justin_Albers He told you? I believe he announced it. @Justin_Albers @B89Adam oh yeah? Then how did I release a podcast of him talking about going to IU before he made the announcement? #NoTimeForIdiots
  10. I think it's important to note that while you use my information from some disgruntled coaches, they are the minority. Yes, I agree it's a problem. It's a problem because that minority yells about it and has made it one. Reasonable minds can disagree.
  11. Huh? That is your argument? That grown men who are also college basketball coaches would make kids transfer because they were helping their team win? I've heard a lot, but this may take the cake. Did you read what I said? I want to point out this is what I said.... " It isn't like a 50 year old man (Tom Crean) is going to hold a grudge against a 19 year old "kid" (Tim Priller) if he has earned minutes and will help the team. It just isn't. " And your original point was about Crean earning the reputation. Now you're citing some unknown assistant from another program and arguing this is an issue that happens...not at IU?
  12. Jeff Rabjohns @JeffRabjohns Indy Hoosiers 2019 wing Damezi Anderson is lighting it up. Drives, floaters, 3s. He has 17 points in the first half. Impressive once again.
  13. The good news...you'll have plenty of games to evaluate that. The bad news....you might be right and he doesn't help much.
  14. This is where we differ. How are those two things not different? He can stay if he wants, sit at the end of the bench, get his degree etc. He can find a better basketball option, in the staffs opinion (and probably reality). Or he can get better and earn minutes. He's got three options. The "kid" has the power. It isn't like a 50 year old man (Tom Crean) is going to hold a grudge against a 19 year old "kid" (Tim Priller) if he has earned minutes and will help the team. It just isn't.
  15. Exactly, and thank you. I get why fans have a problem with the whole thing. No offense to anyone, but it just seems they aren't informed about whats really happening and/or have some sort of agenda. The HS coaches is what is sorta confusing. They know the process but have some emotional issue that overrides reality. It's weird or I'm completely missing something they haven't been able to point out to me. And the Priller situation is pretty unique. Apply it to what Bgleas just wrote.
  16. 6:30 I think. I was assuming my time zone
  17. Troy has his foot out the door or IU wouldn't have offered. McSwain's offer is committable. The new NBA draft rules have certainly helped the college players, but they have complicated things for college coaches. I'm okay with that because it favors the "kid." An idealist would say you don't offer McSwain on the chance Troy comes back and, if he leaves like he is planning to, you go a man down. Everyone else sees the writing on the wall, offers McSwain and has some serious talks with the two Apple is getting at in the above post. I want to be clear that Indiana isn't going to force someone to leave but they will be honest to the point where they paint a picture that encourages one to leave. I know people have a serious problem with that and may think I'm splitting hairs, but I have little issue with it. My biggest issue is that the finicky, querulous, IN HS coaches have an issue which impacts recruiting. I can't imagine catering to that group but I'll move on. These talks are like anti-recruiting, in a way. It's, "here's the reality of the situation. We want what's best for you. Here are other options, we've spoke with coaches..." I get some of you hate that idea, and I'm not saying you're wrong. I get your side of it, I think. I just see it different. I've had serious talks with some HS coaches about this. They tell me I can't identify with it because I'm not close enough to the "kids" and that, I guess, means I don't care. They tell me I value the university over the "kid." They tell me we're talking about lives, not wins and losses. I get it, again, I think. I'm telling them that IU is providing a path to a better situation, in their opinion. If the "kid" doesn't agree, he stays at IU. IU moves on and has a talk with the next "kid." All that makes me a heartless bastard, but, even from their (your) perspective, there are worse tragedies happening every 45 minutes within a two block radius of where I sit right now. And, from my perspective, it solves problems for all parties involved and helps/favors the "kid." Which is what I said forever ago in the first paragraph.
  18. Well, I called one at least [emoji41]
  19. I'm out and about and will elaborate later if need be but thats simply not true. I have that on pretty solid word
  20. I think it was Shakespeare who said comparisons are odious. Or someone said that. Anyways, last point is definitely fair. I guess I just don't want people automatically assuming Al will be as deficient as Stan from deep because I don't think that is fair. He is a different player/person. Which brings me to another point... I've talked about this before on here and on HSN and went on like a 1000 word rant with regards to Yogi freshman year....something people rarely talk about is how much of shooting is mental. Confidence, and lack there of, play a huge role in shooting percentage. It's a volatile aspect. Stan had form issues, no doubt, but he was also in his own head in a bad, bad, way. Stan didn't make a single 3 his last year at IU.
