  11. It's certainly not the majority of HS coaches in state. But those select few, well....when the squeaky wheel DOESN'T get the oil...
  12. Definitely the former, but it sure sounds good :)
  13. http://www.heraldbulletin.com/indianaanderson/q-a-indiana-athletic-director-fred-glass-talks-to-cnhi/article_d7a74e1e-6d6e-11e6-8c49-83714c8418ce.html Some interesting stuff in here about the AD's outlook on the UK rivalry, efforts with Bob Knight, and how off the court stuff has impacted recruiting... "Number one, it’s all about recruiting. Our coaches are not allowed to recruit a kid who has a significant or reoccurring discipline issue without my personal sign off on it. We’re very sensitive about red flags, and we’ve passed on some unbelievable kids. Your readers would probably be sick if they knew of some of the people we’ve passed on from a performance standpoint that we thought were just too much of a risk from a conduct standpoint."

  15. Bump...there was some interesting convo going on in the Wilkes thread so we split it out to a more appropriate thread so it didn't get buried/derail the Wilkes thread
  16. Jeff Rabjohns @JeffRabjohns 5-star 2018 guard Romeo Langford (@yeahyeah_22) offered by Georgia Tech tonight.
  17. Solid player. I wonder if Scruggs makes that visit...
  18. Id definitely like to hear others opinions though. The shoe stuff happens but probably more to it than that, idk
  19. UCLA is always going to recruit well regardless of the coach. They have academics, campus lifestyle, basketball history, national presence etc, etc. The others have a lot to do with connections. I posted something in that DM that maybe I should just copy and paste as an example....We were talking about Xavier's connection to Indiana Travis Steele (Born in Danville, IN, Butler Grad, Spiece AAU Coach for years, HSBB coach at Ben Davis) , and Aloha asked if Steele was what got OSU Conley and Oden... Now that is a pretty specific example and I don't know as much about non-IU recruitments...but some of it are things like that above. Some are definitely the almighty shoe companies. For Washington, they have a guy who is pretty dialed in to Nike. Associate HC used to be a Nike business manager. You can trace the schools those guys like Fultz(Dematha), Dickerson (Monteverde) and Williams-Goss (Findlay) back to Nike. Porter is more of the above type of "natural" connection. NC State I really have no clue what goes on there lol but in looking into it I'm sure we would find some combo of both. I think people look a lot into how the team performed recently, but I think coaches just sell them on needed them to get to the next level. It's just a single factor and I doubt some kids care much about it. It only takes one.
  20. I feel very comfortable saying a to be junior is a one and done. That doesn't happen all that often. Dude can ball.
  21. I'd be careful in applying blanket statements about individual recruitments. They're all very, very different. This one included.
  22. As Aloha posted in the '18 thread... Kurt Darling @Kurt_840WHAS Romeo Langford has the offers rolling in, offered by North Carolina now
  23. Projected to lose a ton. Selling PT is a good pitch, but your point remains.
  24. Yeah, they're nuts on that. Williams never considered Purdue seriously. I didn't hear that once.
