I fully expect Woodson back and hold some reservations about the rumors of sending out feelers. Right now though the message will be that they plan to bring him back, they'll say that until they have a replacement. If I'm a donor and Dolson came to me for Woodson's buyout after we just paid to send Allen packing then I'm expecting a splash hire, not Dusty May. Granted if I'm a donor and Miller is replaced with a 60+ that's never coached college then I'm already not happy.

Kind of hard to add recruits when you can't be bothered to be on the recruiting trail.

Apparently the 17m is the university buyout, with coach's buyout around 8.

I would hope some of the folks fuming are in the administration. Recruiting is the lifeblood of a program, unless they know 100% they won't be back they should've been there. Completely inexcusable if there's any chance of the staff being back.

Howard played a lot more recently than Woodson, he retired in 2013 so recruits were alive when he played. Woodson retired before Howard was even drafted. Probably not as much cool factor when the former NBA guy was a journeyman that retired before these recruits were born.

He ran that nail slot rim defense with the Hawks too. Back then teams ran two bigs and the 3 wasn't as much of a focus. Huh, it's almost like he has what wants to do and either can't or won't adapt.

Yeah, he's playing a 3D chess version of basketball. One where not boxing out or guarding the perimeter is good strategy. We're too simple minded to understand.

Oh even if they pull off a grand slam portal I have no faith this staff would get the most out of the team. This team had enough talent to not get punked by a shorthanded PSU and Northwestern.

There's no real way to justify bringing him back. Only one player is committed so we would have to have a monster of a portal season to even have a prayer for next season.

He'd find a way to refer to himself in 3rd person while doing it.

IU likes to have a holier than thou attitude, part of the reason I'm skeptical now.

No wonder we weren't there. He clearly practices witchcraft if he makes shots.

But Indiana is a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad program that breaks great coaches and turns them into bad ones.* *Except Sampson. Or so we're told.

You would think 8.5 per year could entice some bigger names than May or Schertz.

May not even be about money. He could go to them and say he wants movement on a basketball only facility, or his son named coach in waiting, etc.

If IU already has some things he wants from Auburn that could help too.
