I'll still watch the games.  If you expect to see much improvement from a Doug Mallory defense, you should be prepared for a massive let down.   I really don't like the standard that is set by keeping him.  Oh, we didn't have the worst defense in conference history?  There's some improvement!  We must be getting better, nevermind that the bar is so low it'd be difficult not to surpass it.

I'd prefer to fire him as an act of good faith to keep him from (further) screwing over what his pops had some success with, you know by IU standards.

I'm not a master of anything.  I just think retaining Doug Mallory would be a Hindenburg level disaster.

Let me describe Mallory's scheme.   Allow wide open passes and running lanes you could drive a truck through, and pray the offensive player drops the pass or trips over his own feet.   EDIT:  Oh, I know what you're thinking right now.  "That bad?".  No, it's worse.  He's an incompetent fool that could manage to turn a semi competent offense into an unstoppable force.  If he's not fired someone else should be for possessing a level of stupid human kind has never seen before.

Maybe he's just too offense oriented, and the way he always blames the offense when the defense lays another rotten egg it wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I think if Mallory is brought back then Wilson should be on a short leash, and let's face it Mallory is unfortunately coming back if he's out recruiting.   What makes it worse is that now he can say there was improvement as long as we don't have the worst defense in conference history, and in year 4 that shouldn't be where the bar is set.

If you saw a travel, then no you're eyes aren't deceiving you.

It had some struggles, but most of the time it did more than enough to get a W.  You simply cannot expect an offense to always run flawlessly or score on every possession.
