  1. "I think she might be in the gym to shoot free throws tonight"   She's a guard and only shoots 60% from the line, she'd better be in the gym shooting free throws.
  2. The girls have done a good job of getting trapped under their own basket against this press...
  3. "She learned to beat pressure by watching Sue Bird".   In women's basketball that's not a bad player to watch and learn from, especially when your father is her coach.
  4. I know on a play in the first half she could've cut to the baseline when a player was trapped on the post (Gerardot?) and may have had an open look, but she didn't get there forcing a bad passing angle and a turnover.   Could be sick or something, being sick can impact things like that.  Of course as I say that she knocks down an open look.
  5. Oh, a back court of Brooks/Agler/Buss will be dangerous.   Speaking of, anyone know what's up with Agler?  She's spent a lot of time on the bench tonight, and when I've watched her before she usually knocks down open shots.  Hurt, sick, or just a bad game?
  6. Doubtful.  Too many people are caught up on athleticism instead of just being able to enjoy the game of basketball.
  7. Locking Mallory in a closet on game day would've improved the defense.
  8. And they'll be mathematically eliminated by March.
  9. My gut tells me Ole Miss, but hopefully I'm wrong.  I'd love to add this guy to the squad.
  10. I loved it to an extent.  He performed better than pretty well any pitcher in Japan, he even performed better than Yu Darvish in some ways, although he's more projected to be a good 2 than an ace.  I just didn't like giving that kind of contract, 7/155 is A LOT for someone that has never thrown a pitch in MLB.  He was a player I really wanted though because they needed rotation help (and the FA options weren't as good and just as expensive) and he's young, and I liked that they took a chance on a Japanese player because they were tentative after they missed with Kei Igawa (which is they're own fault, he sucked over there too).   So basically I loved it except for the size of the contract.  Unfortunately it's going to be that way now for players like him because the new posting system makes it so many teams can negotiate instead of one team throwing a mountain of un-taxable cash for sole negotiating rights (ala Darvish).
  11. Yankees.  I grew up hearing my dad tale stories of Mickey Mantle and watched the 1998 WS with him.   For the record, I really hate that they signed Boston's glass elf.  He's little more than Brett Gardner with a better batting average, which happens to be a pretty meaningless stat.
  12. I'm really not a fan of the white ones with red stripes, at all.  I don't like how they did the stripes, one is diagonal and the other runs side to side.  I liked the front to back like our chrome helmets from last year.  The others I like to differing degrees, but those I wouldn't complain if they were locked in a closet in the deepest darkest parts of Memorial Stadium never to see the light of day again.
  13. I'm still really liking the red/white one in the bottom right square, and the matte red/gloss block.
  14. Wonder what PU fans are saying about this.  Probably "we didn't really want him anyway".
  15. I like that one the more I see it, I'm really liking the red/white with IU on the side though (top left, second post).   I'd love to see us bring in a carbon fiber helmet.
  16. I'm really digging the red/white one with IU on the side, top left in Reb's second post.
  17. We have to offer him first, and most recruiting services show him as not having an IU offer.
  18. I'm not sure how much they are actually involved with it though.  I believe it's a friend of the family doing that, they used to post on HSN1 actually.
  19. Seems like he doesn't know what he wants.  He committed to Georgia Southern, and decommitted a month later to commit to App State.  Not a particularly impressive offer list, but he did pick up a fairly recent Missouri offer so that's a bigger program.
  20. Maybe he'd transition to RB.
  21. They're actually similar coaching records.   Tom Crean:  1 Final Four, 2 conference titles, 60.7 winning % in 15 years (officially his early years here do count, so that's what I went with) Mike Davis:  1 Final Four, 3 conference titles, 60.6 winning % in 13 years   Aside from the recent Sweet 16s they are practically mirror images of each other.  And that should be a scary to anyone that wants this program to succeed.
  22. Am I the only one that saw this name and did a double take?  I was sitting here thinking "didn't he play for UK?".
  23. I know it's early.  I was talking more in general, I'd like to see us land more 4 stars on the defensive.  Easier said than done, I know.
  24. I'd love to see some more of these 4 star defensive players actually commit.
  25. I know Elston had some injury issues here, but man what kind of competition is he facing?   The stats he's putting up, I can help but think the competition would make our non-con schedule of mainly high school girl's teams look like the Globetrotters.
