  1. McRoberts, by a very wide margin, is our only walkon that has the ability to contribute to a D1 team during an actual game. Lasko had 25ppg at a very small private academy near where I live; he was honorable mention all-county in an area that is not much of a basketball Mecca. Great student and hopefully a very good practice player and team chemistry kid.
  2. Also, we are losing 6'1, 6'3", 6'5, 6'6", and MSB at a hulking 6'9". in other words, our current 2018 recruits already have slightly increased team size and length.
  3. I imagine that I am considered a purist around here, and yet this doesn't bother me at all. Not one little bit. The coach that actually did the real disservice to Grant Gelon was Tom Crean. Grant Gelon should never have been offered a scholarship to a high major school. When Archie told him that truth in a gentle way that any college player should understand, instead of accepting it Gelon apparently informed the staff that he wanted to stay and play anyway. At that point the coaching staff told him the truth again, this time with a complete description of every detail in our policy that they would follow. You guys want proof that Archie handled the situation professionally? Rob Phinisee, who committed to Archie Miller and Indiana University today, played for the same AAU team and coach as the one who Gelon was advised by. No doubt that AAU coach understood reality far better than Tom Crean or Grant Gelon.
  4. FANTASTIC NEWS WELCOME ROB PHINISEE!!!!
  5. Sounds like we have a big-time TE ahead of Friend...also sounds like tackle eligible at the goal line will now be an option!
  6. Well... If you believe that we are in Garland's top 6, Duke's top 5, and that Akinjo, Dort and DeVoe also all have IU in real consideration, Phinisee may be waffling as to whether to commit due to his wondering whether IU is trying to recruit over him in the 2018 class. If you believe this theory, then IU may have even made that specific point with Phinisee. Now, if you believe that those other point guards are just paying lip service to IU, then it would be Phinisee who is waffling in his IU commitment. well???
  7. Either of which would put us in the tourney.
  8. Agreed. And on so many levels.
  9. Gents; I understand the curiosity, but let's not clog up the Phinsee thread too much with the Crean story and posts asking for pms about it. Chris just shared that it was "Crean asking a member of the staff to do something, than after it's done, he decided his way would be better." If he wants to add more on the open board he will. If you want to request a pm do so in the pm box. Thanks
  10. That won't prevent him from starting if he's good enough. DeRon Juwan Josh RoJo CuJo Is far and away our most likely starting lineup, with Collin also playing starter level minutes.
  11. Did it involve a trunk full of midgets and a gallon of cooking oil? Cause even that wouldn't surprise me.
  12. Well...that depends on your tolerance: The lifeblood of this board is well-written analysis, reasonable speculation, respectful disagreement, open debate, and interesting information. You have been a poster that contributes all of these dynamics in a major way. When a direct, staff-attributed assessment of a recruit is shared, I find it completely compelling, but it is wholly reasonable to expect that it will bring out the speculation and debate elements. My take? I love posts like that, but you have to keep on keeping on only when you're okay with people questioning what you may know to be true.
  13. They forgot to mention that since this board has been pushing for him he has grown from 5'11" to 6'1". At this rate he'll be about 6'6" by the time he gets to campus! ;)

  16. Annnnddd... Jerry Meyer has now officially put his prediction on the web for: Phinisee to IU. Yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes In-state Indiana Elite AAU Top 100 Very high character Excellent on-floor leader Three/four year player Extremely well-rounded game Plays hard, defends, rebounds, toughness Winner C'mon Robert; now let's make it official!
  17. And the complete lack of judgment and personal responsibility.
  18. If it seems like a given, why is it taking so long?
  19. Easy Stuhoo... Must not compare his skills to Perea Must not compare his skills to Perea Must not compare his skills to Perea
  20. Im thinking we go with a Tim Priller isolation set: https://www.instagram.com/p/BXoGhANDeA4/
  21. That "long way to go" dynamic was necessary and very helpful in this case.
  22. Well now, let's not get all cocky about it.
  23. No doubt by committee no matter what. But...take a look at the complete IU rushing totals from the Allen-coached Foster Farms Bowl (and it was a close game - not a 'throw it every down' affair). I'm not seeing a lot of Williams, Natee, Gest, or Magette in there: IND - Rushing Player Att. Gain Loss Net TD Lg. Avg. Redding, Devine 17 81 9 72 1 15 4.2 Brookins, Ricky 12 60 7 53 0 20 4.4 Williams, Devonte 3 6 0 6 0 4 2.0 Diamont, Zander 1 3 0 3 0 3 3.0 Lagow, Richard 4 5 22 -17 0 5 -4.3 TOTALS 37 155 38 117 1 20 3.2
