What would be on your IU Basketball Bucket List?
Stuhoo replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
IMO...Ranger78 wins the thread. -
Feels like CuJo has way more upside, but will not be the steady glue guy that Rojo is.

I'm sure we have. Purely by memory off the cuff, I don't think Odle or Hornsby got much run early on. Eyl and Leary also. I think Nover and Jadlow's minutes increased substantially, and could've predicted that MSB would average 18 and 8 by his senior year! :D

Generally, I'm with you; a stand still catch and shoot guy as a 4 year player is a good thing to have. Especially one who has dreamed of being a Hoosier. However, catch and shoot guy Matt Roth averaged 22 ppg senior year in high school, and Todd Leary averaged more than that. They were athletic enough to be reasonable defensively, and athletic enough to move within the offense to enable open catch-n-shoots. I hope Gelon can be that guy, but lately it's looking like he may have trouble doing so.

Bob Knight reunites with man after 30 years

Sure. I can do that! -
Good lord. This is not a court of law. Moreover, hearsay is relevant during the investigative stage, even in criminal matters. It is commonly used as lead material. Moreover, although hearsay is not admissible in court, circumstantial evidence is absolutely admissible, and is apparently abundant here. Finally, when a program has university facilities and university monies used for provision of prostitutes to players, recruits, and recruits' fathers, that is far beyond "the coach can't know everything." At the very least, that is a red letter example of complete lack of institutional control. Why else do you think UL is trying to mitigate the damage by imposing a post-season ban on their top 25 team? Because they think there's nothing to see here? PUUUHHHHLEEEEEEAASE!

Uhmmm...I'll tell you where the large sums of money were detailed: By the madam. By emails between the madam and Andre McGee By the financial records By the now admitted testimony of numerous UL recruits, including the infamous JaQuan Lyle By UL, who has now generally admitted that the charges are absolutely legit, but are still not fessin' up that Pitino or Jurich personally knew that anything illicit was going on. In doing so, they are trying to downgrade from "complete complicity" to "complete lack of institutional control". Moeover; I don't think there were "$10,000 checks". I believe it was a series of payments by McGee totaling $10,000+, for strippers and prostitutes at Minardi Hall, for players, recruits, and the recruits' dads.. I also remember reading that McGee wasn't paid much more than minimum wage, and that there was no freakin' way he had enough $$ to pull this off without $$ from a higher level. Google is your friend; any of the items listed above are plastered all over the interwebz.

What would be on your IU Basketball Bucket List?

Great thread. The 'wish I could've seen it' list: - An RMK locker room at halftime when we were playing like crap. - An RMK locker room after a game when he was truly, completely satisfied. - A round of golf with RMK - A practice during which some poor guy got 'Tijan-ed', and then tried to get mad at him with a straight face. - A bar room night out with IU players while they were honestly assessing the basketball skills of Tim Priller - Little 500 weekend with Coverdale. Or Dakich. Or Sheehey. - Cody Zeller angry. - Various folks from Southern Indiana trying to introduce Haris Muzienovich, by his full name, to acquaintances. - A healthy, never injured, senior year Maurice Creek. My 'already accomplished' bucket list: - Great student seat for RMK's chair throw. - A pandemonium win over a top five Iowa/Tom Davis era 1980's team during which the Hoosiers scored over 100. - Finding an open door at Assembly Hall a summer about four years ago, and walking to center court with my wife and kids. - At the Final Four in New Orleans. G_d bless it, Freddie Banks was on fire! - At an Orlando Magic game VO's rookie year. He took my then six year old out of the stands during warmups, signed his IU hat, and took a picture with him. - Verdell Jones post-game during cupcake season on the court recording a cellphone video-ed Merry Xmas message by name to my three kids. - My now nine year old, when he was 4 1/2, watching every minute of a terrible IU team getting destroyed by OSU on the DVR when I was at work, and then telling my wife "I just can't take it anymore!" - That same nine year old, armed with his Jordy Hulls imitated right shoulder jumper, averaging about 10 ppg for his U11 rec league team this year. While always wearing IU shorts. In South Florida. - Family dogpiles on the living room floor after the WatShot and Sheehey VCU winner. The Still Waiting Bucket list: - Watching the secretly taped cellphone video of UK boosters paying relatives of UK recruits - My nine year old dreams of being Taylor Wayer...and walking on at IU. (He knows he'll never be tall enough for a scholly spot). - #6 -
Troy is already getting 3-5 minutes a game at guard with Yogi. CTC has a choice of either Niego or Troy as his 4th guard, and against more athletic teams he has been choosing Troy lately.
-
I tell ya...Troy is going to receive his degree, he's engaged to be married, and his mama has medical bills and is not wealthy. He will not be playing college ball next year. He is likely not an end of the bench NBA project. More likely his choice will be either D-League with a chance to develop into an NBA player, or overseas with a chance to earn six-figure-ish money right away.
-
Some? Juwan would be their best defensive big. OG is better than any of their five star recruits. Of course, OG is pretty freakin' awesome.
-
Without question, if they had him, Max Bielfeld would be the best big on the UK team. That's on a team that has three five star and two four star bigs.

Marcus Lee is like a 5*, sober Hanner Perea.
