I fully understand the logic that it will make the team better, but I don't buy that a senior Troy wouldn't have been a net plus.

A little parable for you, X-Hoosier: When I was in my late 20's I had a buddy who was a very good golfer. Carded scores in the mid-upper 70's on serious courses on a regular basis. He decided to enter an amateur tourney where Every. Shot. Counted. No mulligans, no gimmee putts, No friendly drops from the trees. Carded two consecutive days of about 100. Moral of the story? You remember the hot streaks when you hit a bunch of 20 footers? Sure....but that's not reality, young man.

Only two Hoosiers can do better: MSB and XHoosier ;)

I'd very much like to see him finish his degree as he leaves. Hope he's getting and listening to good advice on that front.

It was actually on just one shot! It went 3/4 of the way down, and then spun out harmlessly. Troy got the rebound and quickly threw up a no-look, hyper-speed, over the shoulder pass/shot that hit Larry Bird, who was seated in the third row, in the nuts.

By the time Lil Ricky "overspent" on these private flights, he had still spent less than half of what the IUBB staff spends annually. All of the excess spending was approved by his bosses in the athletic department. Lil Ricky is a train wreck, but not because of this. He is terrible mainly because he's a crappy on-court coach, and because the players he recruits are of, ahem..."questionable character", at best.

I have a little different take: All of the intangibles are an absolute that we need to try to insure before ever considering a recruit as a good fit for IUBB. After that vetting is done,the high ranked kids are no guarantee, but the odds are way better that they're talented and skilled.
