Short answer, because the entire South Bend school corporation is a mess. The city is a mess but I'll stop there because this need not turn political. Wesley's mom, who was a school board member, was instrumental in the removal of the first coach, Mark Johnson. He was successful and had been there for years. The following coach came from LaLu and that relationship wasn't going to last. I know Andre Owens, and him stating personal reasons is about as gracious as can be. The behind the scenes politics at South Bend School Corp is ridiculous. Their latest and greatest fiasco was eliminating the AD position at each school and replacing it with a "Dean of Students and Athletics" position. A position that requires an administrative license. I could go on but by now I think you get the gist.

Grew up next door to Notre Dame, but dad was a Hoosier fan thru and thru. A few days before Christmas 1970 dad took 6 yr old me to the ND-IU game. I remember him raving about Big Mac all game as he dominated. I was hooked.
