Not much that I can already add that’s been said, and even though it’s game 1 with a lot of newcomers and a different style offense, I was left feeling okay about this team. My biggest worry is while we’ve seen progress each year under Archie, that it might never get us to the top of the Big10. I could definitely be wrong and hope, just being a little cautious I guess. I was definitely impressed with TJD, Galloway, and Rob. Rob played some really good on-ball defense that will really pay off this season. Galloway reminds me of a better Sheehey, more of a basketball IQ but similar players. TJD struggled some to start finishing through contact, but that’s understandable in the first game. I was hoping to see more from Race, Al, and Franklin, but it’s not like they played bad. Coming into this season, I felt these guys would be more producers on offense. Still, game 1 and I shouldn’t read too much into it, just ready for IU to be back as a top team. I think Archie can do it, just waiting to see how it goes this season before making a decision one way or the other. Regardless, it’s great to have IU basketball back. Also, congrats to the Lady Hoosiers for their dominant performance! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Very sad news and hits really hard. I had the pleasure of meeting Eric (Colonial) a few times, such a great guy. He will be missed, such a major part of IU fan forums today! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Wow what a start, terrible middle, and great finish! Al made some of the dumbest passes you could imagine, but it’s a HUGE win for our team. This was a very good team win, everyone contributed in some way. Only gripe is why do we continue to start Joey? He’s one of my favorite Hoosiers this year, but he’s really struggling and hurt IU to start the 2nd half. Just doesn’t make sense to me...... Got really worried when the team started to fade, but the Hoosiers found their fight and really got after it again. When this team plays hard it’s so much fun to watch! Great win, really needed with these two road games coming! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

I feel Race has shown flashes of this when given minutes, but for awhile always had his minutes taken away from Justin and Joey. I feel he is more prone for this sort of production because of his all out effort. Not saying he will score a bunch, but he’s proven to be a very good defender and rebounder that provides energy. Brunk’s in a bad slump, and he deserves minutes for sure, but I feel we are better with Race in there because of all the intangibles he brings. Not saying he’s an all-star, but someone who could easily get us 6pts and 8rbs a game. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Bracketology and Team Resumes

I feel like as long as we can win 3 games we are undoubtedly in, and 2 more wins puts us on the bubble but in with 19 wins. Mike Decourcey has said that the bubble is so bad this year that IU should be in. Just take care of home court the rest of the way! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

IU really needs to pick up a road win either at Michigan or at Minnesota. Don’t see it happening here, but fingers crossed because anything can happen in this Big10 season, especially if this IU team actually plays hard. 62 - 69 Mich +7 Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

IU is so close to breaking through, and it feels like it can never truly get over the hump. It’s getting tons better, but come on...... really?! Lol Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Great game by our Hoosiers! This was a must win and the Hoosiers really fought for it. Have to keep up the momentum and have that fight against a solid Michigan team. If IU comes with a tough mindset and bulldog on the boards I really like our chances even though it will most likely be an uphill battle. Thrilled for this win, but one game at a time and have to get focused for Michigan. Really liked our lineup of Trace, Justin, Race/Jerome, Rob, and Devonte today. Makes this team much more versatile and I hope that will be more of the norm. I know Devonte won’t always do that, but slide one of Devonte, Al, or Armaan (whoever is playing better). While not huge stat stuffers, I thought DeRon, Justin, and Jerome had very nice games overall. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

I’m wondering if Anderson will decide to look elsewhere. Not that he’s super unhappy, but maybe needs a reset with how off his shot is/etc. Also, thanks for all your posts here, greatly appreciated! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I was very hopeful going into this season, and remained that way through part of this season...... but it’s just hard to defend the product we have on the floor. I would respect/support CAM way more if he would bench certain players and lose with walk-ons getting some minutes. I have left the Miller train, and I worry if being handcuffed will be his ultimate undoing because this whole program looks, I would say in a haze! It’s here, everyone is participating, but no clear direction of what’s going on or trying to, but just can’t seem to get a clear mind of anything. Just very disappointing because this program should be a constant Top 25 team with the backyard recruiting opportunities, history, fanbase, etc. Why can’t we have nice things anymore? Lol. Yep...... I don’t see how anyone can be hopefully about this year or future of this program. Players aren’t doing the things needed to compete, and the coaches are doing jack squat with these players or making adjustments to find success. This team won’t be anything, and it’s kills me to say this as a diehard Hoosier fan. This university has arguably the best recruiting with the state, very good facilities, rich history, and one of the best fan bases. How in the world are we just a constant mediocre program?! I refuse to watch games anymore because I’m so sick of the product on the floor! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
