I didn't quite say it as eloquently earlier but I agree 100%.

From Football team after the bowl game??? That would be my guess...
-
Robert Johnson is every bit of awesome!

I use IE at work to except for this site I always use Chrome... I had the issue before and that was the explanation. I still like IE but the more I use Chrome the more ok I find it to be.. Eventually I'll completely make the switch lol -
Very good points. I want to slowly move up, earn every spot... But I do want them in the top 15 at the end of the year, top 4 seed in the dance.. That was my expectations this year and although I don't see it happening now we gotta take care of business when we should and win at least 2 of 4 of the tough ones to get to that point.
-
I agree, so does 7 more victories over subpar BIG teams get their attention?
-
As I said before I think it would... But new polls came out today considering our Notre Dame victory and we have 0 votes, 5 BIG teams received votes including Iowa and Northwestern... If we are now thought of behind Northwestern we may have more work to do than I thought.
-
And our schedule sets us up for a late season swoon for sure, the toughest games are all at the end
-
Lame.... Lol jk jk.. I prolly didn't get many right either
-
Not a lot of tough games to start Big Ten, but yea I think starting of 7-0 would get us back in the rankings
-
Maybe if we put 7-8 Big Ten wins in a row.. But not if we are counting the last of the non con schedule.. Notre Dame is a nice one, the other 4 shouldn't even count... The Big Ten schedule could allow this so maybe possible if we have truly turned a corner.
-
Maybe the most frustrating wins of all time. I was screaming and cussing the whole game... Usually that's reserved for losses... RoJo is great, Hartman & NZ3 are our next best defenders and have the most heart... Troy is up and down... Yogi should have been benched in this game, JBJ didn't play well... As DD stated be couldn't guard a chair, and he is still all about JBJ over the team. Max is better for this team than Bryant... The team ruining through the post is much smoother than our one on one run and gun crap of an offense...

I guess, but it hurts more that Purdue has taken our place I guess
-
Similar to this although not exactly related, watched the UofL game and at halftime they were talking about the Purdue Butler matchup this weekend and talking about the top of the Big Ten and we were not even mentioned in the discussion.... Very sad situation that when thinking of Big Ten IU is not even in the conversation
-
While I agree with the premise it is impossible to schedule all marquee matchups... Many teams play in the different tournaments and we had our chance this year to have several impressive wins, Vandy, Kansas, Duke, & Notre Dame all in non conference play... Sometimes things don't work out. I think the biggest change should be instead of the 300+ teams we can schedule the 150-200 teams, they would jump at chances for home and homes and although that doesn't benefit us as much and we would never do it that would be ideal.

Since this is the Fire Crean thread I'll spin it this way.... If he isn't spending enough time in the gym, if he isn't contributing enough to the team isn't it Crean's job to fix that or send him to the bench or something to get that point across?
-
What is going on if so? Why would you be upset about player chants... Also in another thread it was said he didn't seem happy about Troy winning the Player of the Week Award... Why would he not be as excited for MSB as the rest of the team obviously is.... Who cares if fans chant for him... EVERY single team that has a chance to play their "bench mob" in blowouts goes crazy when/if they score, both fans and teammates, why would this irk him so? And why would a player winning an award from his team be a negative either? I get its a team game etc etc, but I don't get negativity towards positivity?
-
Did I miss something? What explosion? Is this regarding the way Crean acted during the 2nd half... sitting on the bench and not doing much actual coaching?
-
He and Max are definitely becoming my favorites
-
It does.. I didn't say it didn't... I didn't say deflections are pointless, I didn't say the stat wasn't important. However deflecting the ball or of bounds doesn't change possession, it doesn't put points on the board... Yes it makes them restart their offense but it doesn't stop them... I'm all for tracking deflections. I'm just also not fooled when Crean talks about them. Somebody mentioned tracking post feeds... We have a low post player who we "all" feel isn't properly utilized... But just like deflections, the stat post feeds can be very misleading... A post feed in a bad position, a post feed that doesn't lead to easy offense, etc.. MDN I'm not disagreeing with you, just stating my opinion about statistics... I work with numbers and statistics every day and I know that can say whatever the user wants them to say
-
Let's not kid ourselves.. All stats can be manipulated to the users benefit... Deflections can be a very useful stat, they can also be very misleading... A deflection that goes out of bounds doesn't change possession, a deflection can happen if the pass is tipped but still gets to it's intended target, or a shot gets partially blocked but still goes in...

Indiana v. IPFW Game Thread - 19:00 EST on BTN+
Str8Hoosiers replied to DawgBawls's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Just watching the DVR game... No offence to our resident commentator but just said after JBJ's 4th early point that be is a big scorer... I just happen to know he doesn't score again... Then he says Troy hadn't even sniffed double double because of rebounds, I just happen to know he ends up with 19.... I really hope these announcers say something about IU not winning a championship in a long time #announcerjinx -
Not paying Income tax for 1/2 your salary is a huge difference when the salary is that high. (1/2 home games). Also while they do have to pay state income taxes to other states it is only at that other states rate... If you play in a state with a high Tax rate (Cali for example is 13.3%) then you always pay 13.3% on your salary no matter where you play the games... In Florida you ONLY pay the other states rate. ** Again this is a very big difference. I see both sides of this "off topic" argument.... I agree that they could have tried to get MAX contracts in Florida so you could perceive this as a paycut... however they didn't already have pay there so I can see Brass Cannon's point that they did not take a pay cut if they are bringing home more money with the new contract than they were with the higher contract in another state!
