I don't think anyone expected him to perform like this either, all I ever read was that his ceiling is a #2 starter. His fastball is flat and hitters swing, but his splitter looks like the fastball until it's too late and it leads to some silly swings. I don't think he has the stuff Darvish does, but he's got good command and knows how to pitch. Pretty imposing in his own right.1 point
