Alternate Universe 2015/16: Different Schedule

IU is 5-0 in B1G play and that's awesome, especially given the fact that JBJ is out. That said, there have clearly been growing pains (and growth spurts- looking at you defense). Ultimately, our weak schedule has allowed the team something of a grace period to adjust and find their identity before the meaty, February schedule. Long term, I think IU is going to benefit immensely from being able to sandbox and learn while playing weaker competition. 

 

So a simple question for discussion: If IU's B1G schedule had started off more difficult (insert your own definition of difficult) how would this team have faired so far and what would their long-term outlook be?

I'm hoping this good start to conference play will make them confident for the tougher second half. Just enough for them to realize they can compete with them.
