Dean Smith seemed like a class guy that believed in treating everyone as equals. That said, didn't Rick Fox from Warsaw play for him? I 

 

Rick Fox did play for Dean Smith, yes.  Although I wouldn't really count Rick as one that got away, didn't he just move to Warsaw to play those two seasons of high school ball?

  Rick Fox was heavily recruited by IU .I think Coach Knight even spoke at an IHSAA eligibility hearing on his behalf.

I really thought we had that kid wrapped up and it stung when he picked the heels.He was a hell of a player.

That's a bummer. He was an excellent player.
