IU vs Michigan

Recommended Posts

I have IU by surprisinglt 9 points. Both teams will try and flex their muscles early and therefore wear themselves down, but i believe IU is deeper and the running game playes to their advantage. IU 80 MICH 71

IU by 4. We have more depth to give star players a rest and we will be in assembly hall. No way we are losing another game here. IU 65-61

One game at a time. I know its easy to over look Purdue with a show down against #1 coming up but I want nothing more than to stomp Purdue. Take care of the Boilers first then worry about the Wolverines.

I do think the team has to stay focused on little brother, but we're not the team and this Saturday's game is something that we've been looking forward to for awhile.

Most pundits have dropped IU from being "the team" and have now picked up on Kansas and Florida, with Michigan a distant 3rd. Beating Michigan will do a lot for this team.

A watched a little bit of the Michigan - Illinois game, Michigan was able to get it in to their bigs with seemingly ease which scares me a bit. They spread the floor and kept the floor spread with the ability of Burke/Hardaway and as we witnessed in the Michigan State game that the backdoor cuts are something that burns us when playing zone. I think IU has to play Michigan with a man defense which of course has the Hulls liability.

It'll be a slobberknocker for sure, in my opinion they're the two best teams in the country, put on your seat belts and hold on for the ride. I say IU by 5, 76-71

There's definitely some matchup problems, especially for IU on defense, but their defense isn't great either. So its all offense…First team to 84 wins.

I think free throws could determine it. We shoot 74% to their 70%, so if we get 20 free shots (15 pts @ 74%, round up, home game advantage) and we can hold them to, say, 15 freebies (10 pts @ 70%, rounded down, AH atmosphere), we win by 5, 84-79... which is, by the way, our ppg average and 1 point above theirs (78). But if we can shoot at the line how we did vs. Purdue, we win by 9 to 10 points :)

GO HOOSIERS!!

IU will have to pick their poison in this game..........either stop Burke and Hardaway from penetrating and leaving Stauskas open for 3's or shut down the outside and make them go inside for baskets 1-on-1...........

Keys to this game:

(1) Jordie HAS to hit his 3's when presented......we would have won by 40 at Purdue if he hits them. 2 of 7 ain't gonna cut it in this game.

(2) Cody has to shut down their inside presence when they have the ball........Hammons made him look like a kid underneath, and McGary can be nasty.......Cody the "animal" need to come out in this game.

(3) Oladipo will need to play better ( yes, better) on-the-ball defense against either Burke or Hardaway to prevent them from driving the lane........Johnson from Purdue got past 'Dipo too many times.

(4) Watford will need another offensive game like yesterday for us to win.

(5) MUST KEEP THEM OFF THE OFFENSIVE BOARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like our chances if we keep them to 1 shot per possession, no matter how good of a shot that is..............

I think both teams are gonna come prepared and it is gonna come down to who wants it more. Sounds cliche but that is how it's gonna be I believe. One turnover or foul because of a missed assignment could be the difference between a win and a loss. With that said I can't wait until tip-off!

If Michigan plays at our tempo, I don't see how we lose the game. I don't think there is a team in the country that beats IU if we score 80 plus points. Michigan likes to play up tempo which is exactly what we want. I can't see them slowing the pace. It will be interesting to see the match ups. I hope Yogi gets Burke, I think he can neutralize him with his D. If that happens, VO will take Stauskus or Hardaway out of the game. They have no answer for Cody. Watford is the wild card, he has been playing much better of late and hopefully in continues tomorrow night. Our bench is deep and has more weapons. Unless we shoot awful, I think we come out on top. I truly think our kids have more of an edge and are more physical than Michigan. If we play like we did Wednesday, we are in first in the B1G.

I just hope Yogi can stay in front of Burke and make him settle for jumpers... I dont think Michigan has really played a team that wants to run yet... well Illinois but they really rely on three pointers too much. If the boys can stay inside the game, and let it flow to them, we will win by 10. If we are struggling to get our defensive set, we could be in for a very long game that will come down to the wire.
