I know we cant get them all and I certainly don't expect to, but losing this one to South Carolina, on top of others choosing such bball powerhouses such as Georgia, would make me very concerned. Recruiting is art more than science, and certainly made easier by program momentum, but we have a staff filled with very qualified recruiters, from Crean on down. Any word on Daniel Giddens?

I think Meyer had JB2 going to kensucky too. He might have changed at the last minute but he was holding out on it. Rob Johnson wasn't coming here either. These guys aren't always right. We'll find out Friday.

Usually by the announcement day, the school with the highest percentage ends up winning. I said usually, so don't take it too seriously.

Yep, not quoting it as gospel, because they are often wrong to the last day or worse.  But when they start switching a day in advance it just puts some doubt in your head.  They on average get it right at about a 75% clip.  Which is not fantastic but better than I would do, I think.  haha

Also, Meyer and the other guy had picked DePaul and Bradley, respectively. So they probably knew they had to change it to either IU or South Carolina. Doesn't mean they have info, just that they know it's probably not going to be DePaul or Bradley.

Not everyone gets 100% of picks right (they're guesses after all!). I don't think anyone had Maten to Georgia. 

But generally speaking, Jerry Meyer knows what's going on and his educated guess holds more weight than most IMO.

Honestly, pretty much every recruit does it here and there with different schools. It's just all a smokescreen.

I honestly wouldn't doubt it. It makes sense if you're the recruit. You want to at least make everyone feel as if they have a chance, especially if you've put them in your top 3, 4, 5, 24, or whatever. :biggrin:
