OT: Big Ten Replay

Recommended Posts

Big Ten Network is airing a replay of the '99 Hoosiers vs. Illinois right now. Randle El in the old black helmet. Worth checking out in free time, it is a very exciting game. To give you an idea of how long ago it was - Neil Rackers was Illinois' kicker. I also found an old USA today box score from the game that looks ancient. It is pretty nostalgic. Randle El was my absolute favorite Hoosier growing up. Anyone else recall any other great games or Hoosiers they really liked?

Randle El is my favorite.  All time favorite IUFB player.  It helps that I attended IU at the same time he did I think, so there is some biases.

I think Anthony Thompson will rank right up there too as well he should!

I bet some old timers would throw in Harry Gonso & John Isenbarger from the '68 Rose Bowl Team.

Even though he left early to prepare for the NFL Draft (which he never got drafted...injuries I believe) I loved watching Alex Smith, a tailback from the Mid-90s.  I think if he didn't try to make the rush into the pro's he'd be someone still talked about today.  He was a solid back.

I seriously miss me some Randel El. He was the most electric player I've ever seen in person. Dude just never gave up on a play. The option with him was INSANE. I would swear he got tackled and low and behold he pitched the ball off over three players when he was inches from the ground. So incredible.
