BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's cross country team is ranked No. 21 nationally in this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I National Coaches Poll, which was released on Tuesday. It marks the first time that the IU women's cross country has been ranked in the nation's top 30 since October 2010.

The Hoosier women were last in the poll when they were ranked 29th on Oct. 26, 2010. This week's 21st ranking is the highest ranking for the IUXC women since Oct. 18, 2004, when the team peaked at No. 21 that season.

The Indiana men's team is currently ranked No. 24 nationally, marking the first time since 2010 that both men's and women's cross country programs have been ranked in the top 25 nationally at the same time.

Indiana cross country is preparing for the championship portion of the schedule which begins on Sunday, Nov. 3, with the 2013 Big Ten Championships hosted by Purdue in West Lafayette, Ind. The NCAA Great Lakes Regional is set for Nov. 15 in Madison, Wis., followed by the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind. on Nov. 23.

The IU men's team has sent a full squad to the NCAA Championships in each of the last three years as the Hoosier women look to get back to the NCAA meet for the first time since 2009.
