Illinois at Purdue...

Recommended Posts

Can we just have them both lose? Because I really don't want either team to be spouting off after the game. Purdue fans will say they beat a top 15 team, and Illini fans will say they won a tough road game in the BIG. But seriously, which team are people pulling for?

33-31 Illinois, almost halftime.  Brandon Paul has 2 first half fouls and 7 points.  If he gets going, I don't see Purdue hanging around in the second half.  Otherwise, could be a good finish in West Lala.  This game is gross.

Well this just goes to show how rough it is on the road in the Big Ten. Not that I think Illinois is that great, but I do think they are better than Purdue

Solid win for the Boilermakers.  Always good when the Home team wins.

We have to tolerate the Boiler win on this one, knowing they'll dwell in the cellar with Penn St and Nebraska. The same thing happened last yr-- beat an over-hyped U of I team that rode a hot pre-season to an early ranking and then fell colossally on their face as the B1G season continued. Either way, the Illinois loss helps IU long term, because Purdue surely won't be in any kind of contention.

Neither team has any inside game. I mean, U of I just rides Paul and Richardson. Purdue fans talked allllll off season about how Hammons would eat Cody alive. I hardly doubt that will be anywhere close to the outcome

I think this game will give fans an appreciation for Indiana's win at Iowa. Purdue has been horrible this year at home, and they really raised their level of play to knock off Illinois. Road games are tough as hell in the Big Ten. I don't think any Road game is a guaranteed win for any team. Some will obviously be easier (Nebraska, Penn State) but not a definite.
