Indiana Women's Soccer will travel to Columbus, Ohio for a match against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Thursday, March 25. The match will be live on Big Ten Network at 1 p.m. ET.

SCOUTING THE BUCKEYES
Ohio State is coming off a two-game road trip with a double OT draw against Purdue and a 2-1 win versus Illinois this past week. In the game against Purdue, the Buckeyes Kayla Fischer found the equalizer in the 81st minute after the Boilermakers struck first, 1-1. The game went into double OT and concluded with a draw. On Sunday, Ohio State defeated Illinois, 2-1. After the Fighting Illini struck first in the 53rd minute, Ohio State's Kayla Fischer found the equalizer in the 65th minute to tie the game, 1-1. Two minutes later, Izzy Rodriguez netted a goal in the 67th minute for the gamewinner. Kayla Fischer and Emma Sears lead the offense with four goals each. Goalkeeper Bailey Kolinski has played every minute, collecting 32 saves.

The Hoosiers look to even the series with a win over the Buckeyes as Ohio State holds a 14-13-2 advantage. Indiana has won two out of the last three matches. Last season, IU defeated the Ohio State, 1-0, with a goal in the 10th minute from now sophomore Alaina Kalin.

LAST TIME OUT
Indiana women's soccer earned their third shutout of the season with a win against the Wisconsin Badgers on Sunday, March 21 at Bill Armstrong Stadium. Freshman Anna Bennett scored early for her first career goal and the gamewinner in the 12th minute. Bennett swooped in on the goalie with a loose ball and launched it deep into the far-right side of the net. Wisconsin saw its best chance in the 27th minute, but goalkeeper Bethany Kopel was there for the save. Kopel recorded three saves on the afternoon.

WOS EARNS WEEKLY HONORS
Indiana women's soccer junior defender Oliwia Wos is the second player to be named to TopDrawerSoccer's National Team of the Week this season after senior Melanie Forbes won Player of the Week on March 2. This accolade comes off a 1-0 victory as the Hoosiers blanked Wisconsin on Sunday. Wos held the back line strong to help Indiana secure the shutout win against Wisconsin on Sunday. She serves as a leader for the Indiana back line as she helped limit Wisconsin to only three shots on goal. Wos also earned her seventh consecutive start for Indiana and played the entire 90 minutes.

NEW HOOSIERS HAVE IMMEDIATE IMPACT
•Indiana women's soccer welcomed six new freshmen to Hoosier Nation. Four freshmen have earned starts in the first five games of the season - Anna Aehling, Anna Bennett, Gabi Rennie and Jen Blitchok. Sofia Black and Zoe Tiger have also provided great minutes off the bench for the Hoosiers.
•Bennett and Aehling are the only two freshmen who have started in all five of IU's games this season. Bennett, Aehling earned their first career point after dishing out assists.
•Freshman forward Jen Blitchok recorded her first points after netting a brace in Indiana's 3-2 victory over Maryland on March 7. She is the second Hoosier to earn a brace this season. Senior Melanie Forbes also scored a pair of goals against Iowa on Feb. 28.

NEWS AND NOTES
•The Hoosiers are 4-3-0 to start the season. A win would set a new record of conference wins under head coach Erwin van Bennekom after Indiana went 4-5-3 in conference play in his first year as Indiana's head coach.
•Indiana has shutout its opponent three times this season.
•Eight different Hoosiers have recorded a point along with five assists on eight goals.
•Senior goalkeeper Bethany Kopel has earned four victories this season along with three shutouts. Another win for Bethany Kopel will tie two others (Lauren Hollandsworth, Stacey Van Boxmeer) in third place with the Big Ten record for most wins in a single season (5). Kopel ranks second with 26 and counting for most career victories in the Indiana women's soccer program. She also holds Indiana's program record for career shutouts with 21. She also holds the record for most shutouts in a season with nine.
