RaceToTheTop Posted February 5, 2021 Posted February 5, 2021 From sports reference. Win shares basically tell the number of wins a player is responsible for compared to if they were replaced with a replacement level player (basically, if they were replaced with a poor lower tier division 1 player). Below are the sport reference calculations of win shares followed by win shares per 40 minutes played (the win shares per 40 minutes played would put players on a more level playing field since it wouldn't reward of punish players for the amount they played nor would it punish a player for being injured). Win shares: Jackson-Davis 2.9 Thompson 2.2 Durham 1.5 Franklin 1.3 Phinisee 1.0 Galloway 0.7 Hunter 0.5 Geronimo 0.2 Lander 0.2 Leal 0.2 Win shares per 40 minutes Jackson-Davis .201 Thompson .174 Franklin .118 Durham .112 Geronimo .106 Phinisee .095 Galloway .077 Hunter .075 Leal .059 Lander .045 For means of comparison, Luke Garza is rated as the top Big Ten player with a win share of 4.4.
